Look at Me!

September 23rd, 2010 @ 2:48 pm by Mrs. Glasses

What are you wearing for your wedding day accessories? I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately. I am not a jewelry girl, and you know this. That’s part of why I don’t have an engagement ring and why I don’t care to have a blinged-out wedding ring. So, it should come as no surprise that for my wedding day, I won’t be carefully coordinating my necklace, earrings, and bracelets.

I do, however, very much like the look of statement necklaces.

I am drawn to sweetheart necklines so I hop my dress will have one.

A statement necklace would look great with this type of neckline. Personally, I like ’em big and chunky (that’s what she said?). I tried to search Etsy for some, I really did. But I think Forever 21 has this market cornered:

I’m not going to wear a veil because I don’t think it would be appropriate for our backyard wedding. And I already rocked the hair flower at our Tokyo reception and at our courthouse marriage. I wouldn’t be me without a headband though; I love my headbands. Since I’m keeping my hair down and flowing, it would be nice to add some flare to my hair with a statement headband.

Maybe I should go with a standout headband and rock this understated necklace!

So what do you think, ladies? Statement headband, statement necklace? Are you doing either?

I LOOOOOVE that last headband! I’m also not really a big-piece jewelry girl, but I also have swooned over several photos of brides in statement pieces. Funny how that happens, isn’t it?

I’m in love with both statement headbands and necklaces, but for me I think statement necklace wins.

I think the middle headband would really show up well in your hair and look awesome. Although I have to admit, while I love my jewelry to pieces, if I have to pick between a necklace and a headband, the headband wins every time.

Well, I think you NEED the glasses necklace, just because it’s too cute to turn down. But for the wedding, I’m a huge fan of the statement necklace!

I have a headband from Forever 21 that looks a lot like that ivory one up there (more of a central flower than along the whole edge though) and that’s what I’m planning to wear (no veil).
