On the way to the church, the guys’ limo and gals’ limo met up at our reception venue for some photos. I was psyched to see Mr. PH and our photographers set up a private and wonderful “first look” for us. I love this photo, with PH looking nervous and the wedding party creeping in the background!

Here I come! No butterflies, just happy.

I don’t even remember what our reactions were. I think we laughed. And hugged. And kissed, too.

We spent a good chunk of time wandering about with our awesome photographers. We walked to the beach across the street from our reception venue. It felt very “Stars—They’re Just Like Us!” to wander along the beach wall with cars honking and tooting and people shouting their congrats.

The misty, cool, gray weather was awesome! I am telling you, pray for rain. Rain’s okay! The beach was empty. Lifeguards huddled in sweatshirts in their chairs and waved at us. I kicked off my heels and couldn’t resist running into the surf. Mr. PH did too (and got his shoes wet, oops!).

One of my very favorite photos of us:

One of the weirdest things that happened: a deer, a deer, appeared from out of nowhere and ran across the shoreline near the water’s edge. We don’t have any photos of it because we were too stunned. But he must’ve been a good omen.
Next, our photographers took us to this empty plot of grass next to our venue. I never would have noticed it, but these are some of my favorite photos of the bunch, what with the hedges and the moss and the vaguely Jane-Austeny quality about them.

It started to rain so our photographers pulled out an umbrella and, just like at the beach, I kicked off my heels and ran through the wet grass back to the limo.

Seeing one another before the ceremony was the best. The smell of the beach, the sand on my feet (and, admittedly, probably on my train), the running and the rain…it was kinda messy and unfussy and fun and perfect: just like we wanted it to be, only better.

Missed any PChipz-recaps? (PCapz?)
So far I took a vacay before the actual wedding, did an ill-advised shot of Booker’s, and woke up early for cinnamon buns and makeup!
