About once a week, when Mr. S isn’t around, I try on my prom/wedding dress with a pretty pair of shoes to make sure that I still like it. And I do. With some minor modifications, I think it might be the one. But I still keep looking.
I’ve fallen for some very simple but much more expensive gowns, but I’ve also been looking at some white or ivory bridesmaids dresses. They’re fabulous for someone like me, who doesn’t want anything too poufy or fancy.
Here are some of my favorites:
This Vera Wang bridesmaid gown comes in a color called “sand dune,” which is apparently closer to ivory in real life. I think it’s elegant and simple and gorgeous.
Joielle doesn’t have a photo of the dress in white or ivory, but it does come that way, and it’s just so purdy.
Here’s another understated beauty by After Six:
I think that my favorite thing about these dresses (besides how affordable they are) is that they’re so simple that I could wear some funky accessories. That’s kind of how I roll in real life, anyway—simple, basic clothing with a giant necklace or a bright scarf or some kick-ass boots. I think that one of these dresses would look amazing with a bright fascinator—or a statement necklace, or shoulder-grazing earrings. Right?
Would you consider wearing a bridesmaids dress instead of a traditional bridal gown?
