I thank my lucky stars to live in such a stunning city that gives me gifts like organic honey lavender ice cream, movie nights in the park, tucked away beaches, legendary record stores, '80s dance parties, awesome sports teams, stellar flea markets, and vintage bookshops. Oh, and I love to dance! We always find every excuse to escape to the beach, and decided a little seaside wedding in Hawaii is our idea of bliss. Full of our favorite people, music, food and sparkly lights, this is one sunset celebration we will always remember.

Oh, how I love a good cocktail party.

Fun-loving people, feel-good music, and delicious drinks make for a too-much-fun time. And as Mr. Ostrich and I plan the little cocktail hour in between our little beach ceremony and dinner, we have been dreaming up the perfect signature party cocktails to serve our favorite people.

With so many ingredients and flavors to choose from, all we know is we want this cocktail to remind our guests of us and this unforgettable day. And, it will be fun to see what drink names the clever and creative Mr. O will conjure up!

Here are just two of the mixed drinks that have inspired us so far. We had a fantastic lunch at Dosa this past weekend and got a little carried away with their spectacular cocktail menu…so much so that we included our favorite here.

Now it’s your turn, my fellow bees! What dream cocktail would you want to sip at a cocktail party? And throw in any awesome name suggestions, too! The more, the merrier. :)

Here’s to too many toasts and wonderful times.

My favorite cocktail is a little deliciousness I worked up one week end when I was a bit bored. I call it the Georgia Ginger Peach (I am a GA girl, after all). It has sweet tea vodka, peach schnapps, and ginger ale. So yummy and soooo deadly. They’ll sneak up on ya!

We’re going to have “pomosas” as our toasting drink (people who prefer can just have plain champagne) - champagne with pomegranate juice. YUM. It is my favorite.

The first one is kind of similar to a Dark and Stormy… it’s black rum (traditionally Gosling’s) and ginger beer. Really amazingly good. Kind of spicy and happy, and it’s got a great name. (though maybe not a wedding-y name… :) )

MMMMMMM! I think I may have talked about how much I love to drink, but I’ve never heard of these cocktails. They sound yummy! Do you like to drink too, Miss O? I am really into high balls right now!

I love the ginger theme - and both cocktails sound wonderful. It might be worth considering doing another flavor other than ginger as the second though, since I seem to run into a lot of people that dislike ginger. (Inconceivable!)
