It had been a long journey for us to get to this point, and finally after one last long walk we were standing in the place where we would become man and wife. I must admit that our entire ceremony was a bit of a blur. You would think with the full Catholic mass happening, it would have seemed like it went on forever (who knows, maybe it did seem that way for guests!) but to us, it flew by. In the hour we were there I had to repeatedly resist the urge to pinch myself to see if this was really happening. I kept looking at Mr. Cloud and thinking over and over in my head, “This is it! We are getting married! He is going to be my HUSBAND! I am about to be a WIFE! All of these people are here for US!”

We could not stop looking at each other and giggling. Everyone else was paying attention but my ADD had kicked in big time. I couldn’t help it, my nerves had turned into full blown excitement and I think Mr. Cloud was still in a bit of shock to see me in my dress after all that time and waiting!

Right before we got up to say our vows I remember Mr. Cloud telling me how perfect everything looked, and he could finally see all of my planning starting to come together. He knows me too well, as those words went straight to my heart. And it was the thought of pictures like these that made me start dreaming of getting married at the Cathedral to begin with.

I’m not going to bore you with the detail from the entire mass. If you have ever been to a Catholic wedding then I’m sure you know just what went down as they very rarely vary. Let’s just get to the good stuff! We joined hands and said our vows (which my voice cracked through as I struggled to hold back the tears).

Our rings were blessed and we giggled as I had to shove Mr. Cloud’s on his finger. It fits fine; I think the fact that we were both shaking with nerves made the whole process harder.

Then we finally (FINALLY!!) heard the words we had been waiting for: “you may kiss your bride!” You know if the priest is smiling, things are going well.

And then my Mister let out one big sign of relief. The hard part was past us, but I was still nervously giggling away.

Of course that wasn’t the end. We ate bread, drank wine, lit the unity candle, and finished up mass. All I could focus on was the fact that I now have a husband. In fact I was so busy being excited with that thought when the priest finally announced us as Mr. and Mrs. and it was time to go back down the long aisle, I forgot my flowers. These next few pictures crack me up because it is so typical of us.

Just when I thought we couldn’t get any more excited, we walked back down the aisle we started to see the faces of our family and friends. All of these people were there just for us! We were finally married! It was time to party! Mr. Cloud pointed at his friends who had come in from New York and I spotted a few special guests cheering us on as well..

Look closely, anyone recognize that pretty lady in the silver shawl?
