I couldn't live without thrift store shopping, cheeseburgers, sushi, Coke Zero, websites devoted to silly photos of baby animals, Photoshop, and Mr. Sloth. Speaking of which, he and I are a pair of goofball homebody nerds who love our beagle (the most ridiculously adorable dog EVER) to an embarrassing degree. I’m Falling in Love Again…

October 5th, 2010 @ 4:24 pm by Ms. Sloth

…with our venue, that is.

We went to see Bartram’s Garden exactly once, for about an hour, on a cloudy, blustery day in November. In Philly, not much grows in November, but I hear that it’s pretty lush and beautiful in the spring. I assume it will look much different when we get married next May, but I’ve kind of been nervous. Is our venue all I think it’ll be?

The thing is, their website has tiny little pictures, and it’s hard to see anything. But I did some major Googling the other day and finally found some photos of actual weddings! And I’m thrilled to see that they look fantastic.

And this wedding has some interior shots of the barn, where we’ll have our reception if it rains. It’s loverly. And it also gives me a great idea of what the tent will look like all set up.

Did you ever have second thoughts about your venue? Did looking at other wedding photos increase your confidence?

I am planning my Chicago wedding from NYC. I pretty much decided on my venue site unseen, based on online pictures and reviews. It was really nerve wracking to visit it for the first time, since I was in love with what I thought it was. Thankfully, it was just as I pictured it and I am more and more excited every time I look at it online.

Haha I did the SAME thing. I loved our venue but since my family visited it in the winter I googled and googled to find images of it set up for a wedding in the late summer so I could show them it’s potential.

The nice thing was that our venue was open thru the week (no appointment required) so I could visit it as many times as I wanted…and I did.

Ooh I like both inside and out. Mr Jag hasn’t seen our venue in person {aah!} so we’ll be heading back there in January to check it out together!

My venue didn’t have many photos on their site either, but google came to the rescue and I was so happy!
Your venue is beautiful!

I googled every single venue I looked at either online or in person. They never have good pictures on their websites!
I have had a few instances of second thoughts about mine because its not a typical set up.. but I absolutely love the uniqueness of it!

My venue is called the Farmhouse. So of course, when I told my city-dwelling family and my fiance’s desert folks they were not too thrilled about it. The venue has since then added photos of recent weddings to their website so I am planning to add those photos or at least a link referring to it on my next newsletter.

Your venue is gorgeous! I have second thoughts about most things because I’m indecisive. Most importantly, I never have second thoughts about husband-to-be.

I too stalked Google for images of my venue. Actually found more on local photographers’ websites who’ve shot weddings at the venue. It provides logistical help (where should the cake table go again??) for a visual bride.

every now and then I google weddings at my venue to take a peek at something new. I never second guessed it because we visited the same time of year the wedding would be. But I do love it all over again when I see new pix so I know the feeling!

Definitely imagine that that you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be at the web the simplest factor to be mindful of. I say to you, I definitely get irked at the same time as other people think about worries that they plainly don’t recognise about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and also defined out the whole thing with no need side effect , other people can take a signal. Will likely be again to get more. Thank you
