I’m finally getting serious about our flowers. Of course, I’ve drooled over lots of wonderful wedding day flowers, but I just started collecting inspiration pictures strictly for our day; not just the stuff I like, but the stuff I want.
My motivation is strictly it’s-the-end-of-the-road procrastinator, also known as an upcoming vendor meeting! We’re getting together with our florist for the first time in less than 2 weeks from today (Squee!) so it’s time to finally get down to business!
It’s never easy to describe the vision in my mind, which is why blogs and pictures are such a great resource. Right now, I need to figure out what we’re doing for the escort card display and gather the inspiration to share to be able to convey my wants to our planner and the florist. If it’s a DIY project, hello! I need to get cracking! If not, I just need to know what I’m asking of the florist.
I’ve looked at a lot of really cool and unique escort card displays, but I really like the more clean look for these spaces. I’m immediately drawn to the photos below. I think it looks very classy, yet whimsical at the same time.
I really, really like the assortment of vases and varying levels. It’s really pleasing to the eye and it suits us well. It’s the same look I want in a lot of our other spaces (the mantels, centerpieces, dessert bar, etc.). I’m probably also very drawn to these photos because of the colors—perfect shades of pink and green, our wedding colors!

The only thing I don’t like about this display is the actual escort cards. They’re too plain for my taste. I want something more unique and fun. Something that will reflect our theme or our colors. Something more like these beautiful, fabric-covered cards:
Aren’t they purty?
I love them! They’re pretty reasonably priced, too, at $1.25 each! Now, I’m not sure that includes the actual printed card part and well, and I’m not sure I can convince Mr. B to spend an additional $125 on something we could easily make at home, but I like them. A lot.
Do I smell a DIY project coming on?
Maybe.
I’m also considering these lovelies:
These are a bit more expensive at $1.75 each (yikes!), but they’re so pretty and perfect for our theme. They would also be much more difficult to make at home though. I hardly have enough patience for our wedding website, let alone cutting out individual butterflies!
I found a similar card that costs just $1.00. For this particular style, I think it might be worth the splurge; just because of the intricate detail.
Aren’t these unique?
Can you picture them in the escort card display above?
The last option is the most cost effective at .50 cents each. They, too, definitely fit in with our garden-butterfly theme and I also like the fact they have color.
What do you think?
Which escort card is your favorite? How should I choose?
What did you use for escort cards?
