Bachelorette Fun

October 6th, 2010 @ 6:47 pm by Mrs. Socks

This past weekend I had my bachelorette party with BMs Lea and Jess, and one of our groomsmen’s wives, Jill. I came into the city early before it started and met up with Lea and some of her friends for the fall festival that was taking place in Philly.

It was where a bunch of the restaurants and bars in Midtown Philly set up tents and served food and drinks to the hundreds of people milling about the streets.

Yum!

We started out by drinking at the Graffiti Bar at Sampan, which is down a little hidden alley but is a seriously cool space:

From left to right: Brad, BM Lea, Katie, Alana, and my gigantic purse.

After we drank and hung out there, I decided I needed a little more action. Oh yeah, there was sumo wrestling going on down the street and I had to get in on that. No one in my group wanted to do it with me though, so I had to fight a stranger!

Here I am getting ready to fight…but pictures don’t really do my fight justice…you should definitely check out the video where I get my sumo-butt kicked (stay to the end though, I do knock her down once!)

I had SO much fun! It was over fast, but it was definitely a good time.

There was a band playing down the street and people were dancing, so of course I couldn’t pass that up either!

We sat and drank a bit more afterward at Zavino Pizza & Wine Bar, where we had some delicious eats, too!

And then BM Lea and I went back to her apartment to get ready for dinner.

I had told Lea and Jess to keep things classy for my bachelorette…I didn’t want the boas or the sashes or the beads, but of course…they couldn’t help themselves.

See my look of shock joy?

I decided to roll with it anyway!

Though, I didn’t wear the glasses or ring pop to dinner, I kept the beads and sash on just for dinner!

We were so ready to go-our black headbands in place, we hit the town and went to Chifa—one of Iron Chef Jose Garces’ restaurants.

I didn’t get a picture with Jill! She stopped by for dinner, but she was there!

After dinner, the three of us headed to the bar deck for The Continental and finished the night with some champagne cocktails by the fire.

Thanks Jess and Lea for making my day wonderful! Thanks also to Jill, Brad, Alana and Katie! I had a great day!

Bf just asked if we can have Sumo Wrestling at the wedding. Umm I’ll have to think about that. He even said we could put a faux wedding dress over my sumo suit.
