About Mrs. Turtle

Our guests definitely enjoyed the candy, but there was one thing I think they enjoyed more: the photobooth!

So Happy Together: The Photobooth Experience : wedding central ca pictures pro pics recap 14blog11 Photobucket

(Is it sad that even though it was a huge hit, the bride in me still looks at that photo and wishes I’d had time to replace the red curtain with a pink one?? Oooh well! C’est la vie!)

Anyway…we rented our photobooth from The Photobooth Experience. The company is affiliated with our photographer, and we fell in love with their booth when we first discovered it at a bridal show long before our wedding. Ever since we booked them, I was totally excited about finding vintage accessories for people to use as props in their photos.

I think props add so much fun to photos and help people to loosen up a little bit. I wanted to go more old movie than party store, as it would really make the pictures fit with our vintage style wedding. I’d seen this a lot on wedding blogs, but was nervous about how it would go over in real life; so nervous in fact, that I neglected to collect the props. A few days before the wedding, I told Mr. Turtle how disappointed I was that we didn’t have props just because I was afraid that people would think it was stupid. I knew deep down that even though it was a little detail, I’d regret it if we didn’t have them. Sooo…Mr. Turtle surprised me and spent a whole afternoon going to antique stores, collecting props! He came up with a fun selection of old hats and even a pipe! (Gross, but awesome!) When he showed me all that he’d gotten, I was so excited and felt so blessed that he did this just to make me happy! (Especially because at this point, I’d totally run out of time to do it myself!) The day before the wedding, my dad and brother also picked up a bunch of fake mustaches and funny glasses at a local joke store. So cute!

From the moment it opened, the photobooth was not only full, but had a long line of people waiting for their turn!

And it’s a good thing we decided to go with the props, because they were a huge hit! Guests of all ages were sticking on the mustaches and wearing the hats. It was so fun to see!

A couple of Mr. Turtle’s groomsmen piling on the props

After the wedding, I loved going online and viewing all of the pictures that people took that night! Soooo funny!! Practically every guest took at least one photo. I especially loved seeing the photos of the older people, who I’d been sure would not get the whole concept. (No offense.) But they were piling on the props with the best of them! And speaking of the best of them…

Three of my bridesmaids/best friends… (Looking at the pictures in chronological order, it’s funny to see how throughout the night, random details from our wedding started popping up in the pictures, in addition to the provided props! Umm.. hello bottle of Sofia Rosé!)

Two bridesmaids and two groomsmen… (Is that the emcee’s microphone in there??)

So Happy Together: The Photobooth Experience : wedding central ca pictures pro pics recap 14blog1011 Photobucket

All four of my bridesmaids… (With a bouquet, a lollipop from the candy table, an apothecary jar lid, and our going away flags! Why not?)

So Happy Together: The Photobooth Experience : wedding central ca pictures pro pics recap 14blog1021 Photobucket

Then I jumped in and joined them… (Why does this one look so chaotic?)

Our adorable and over-the-top talented wedding coordinators, of Danae Grace Events, even took a turn in the photobooth!

And check this out! Mr. Turtle’s parents on the left, and mine on the right! (Loving the vintage hats!)

And last but not least, the bride and groom themselves! ;)

I would show you more, because some of my very favorites are of random guests, but I feel kind of weird sharing them on the world wide web! Sorry!

So, we’ve gotten pretty far in this recap series! Feel like you were there? Maybe a little bit? Well next time, you’re finally making it to the reception! What are your thoughts on photobooths at weddings? Are you having/did you have one?

I would so love a photobooth. Since you went through your photographers, how long before you got the print? Did you get it at the wedding or did you have to wait for them to put it online? Nice pictures you have there. I love your recaps.

Amazing! Perfect photobooth if I ever saw one! And if you didn’t point out the red curtain I never would have thought of it pink!

Our ‘photobooth’ is still in the making. Its taking over my life! Will share soon! =)

@bRooklynRocks: The photobooth printed photos out instantly that night, and then there was also a password that guests could use to view the photos online and order additional copies!

This looks awesome!! We had a fauxto-booth with no props (basically just a white backdrop and our second shooter manned the camera) but the pics are still hilarious!!

This is great, it’s total vindication of the whole idea of a photo/faux-to booth. I’ve read the odd post here and there on the Hive and elsewhere against them, but I have to say, they really look like photos you will enjoy for years, every bit as much as your pro pics!

I love your recaps so much! Everything is beautiful - but more so, it seems like everything is not just pretty in pictures, but SO MUCH FUN, and heartfelt, and, well, just wonderful-wedding-and-love-filled. Can you please keep them going forever? :-)

Love those silly pictures! I wish we had room for a photobooth, but it just isn’t in our cards.

Very cute, and I love how you adapted the photo booth to your wedding. And I know it’s no help, but the lux red curtain looks good, and very old-school Hollywood movie. So I think it works.

Awwww so cute!!!! These are some seriously adorable photo booth photos! I love that you had the hat rack outside to hang all of the hats on…pretty AND functional!
