Try it On!

October 7th, 2010 @ 10:11 am by Ms. Sloth

Now this is a fantastic idea.

I just found out about Aria, a design company that makes wedding and bridesmaid dresses. Their designs are very simple and pretty. They’re customizable in different fabrics and colors. But here’s why I’m blown away:

They have a try-on program. (!!!!!!!!)

They only have three stores: in L.A., Boston, and DC. If you don’t live close to one of the stores, you can call and order your particular style and size to try on! OK, it costs $15 per dress, but that’s less than I’d spend if I drove down to D.C. to try them out in person. The prices are incredibly reasonable (the most expensive dress is $455) and seriously, you guys. Look how cute they are! These are the three I want to try on:

Try it On! : wedding philadelphia wedding dress Aria2 aria2

Try it On! : wedding philadelphia wedding dress Aria3 aria3

Cute, right?

Would you consider buying a dress through a try-on program? Or do you like having a bridal consultant helping you out in person?

Those are so cute, they remind me of the J Crew dresses, but less expensive. And that $15 option would totally be worth it.

WOWW those are beautiful dreses! The last one actually looks very close to my wedding gown - but apparently a lot cheaper! I would have totally done this and I live in DC :-( WAH!

I saw these and almost ordered one; but, alas, I didn’t know about the try-on program. Boo!

How do you find this stuff? Also, thanks. I’m going to make sure my newly engaged friend who lives in DC reads this.

Ooh! I’m getting my bridesmaids dresses from Aria and I LOVE them. I live near DC so we did go try them on there. I bet you’ll love the first one, that is the bmaid style that looked great on everyone (although we are mixing and matching styles).

I was MOH when my BFF just got married in July and we had Aria BM dresses - I did the try on program even for that and thought it was brilliant! My dress still needed alteration because they are definitely “off the rack” sizing so if you’re between sizes, you may have that added cost - but they are still VERY affordable - and comfortable!!

I wore an Aria bridesmaid’s dress in Miss Sox in the City’s wedding, and they were awesome! I love my dress. The fabric is forgiving, the quality is great, and the customer service is awesome! Mom Library also got a dress from there for her MOB dress for my wedding. We love Aria!

I was so excited about getting an Aria gown too! I’m very glad I tried them on. I wasn’t pleased with the look of the gowns, there is no structure to them and they just were not very flattering on me. I think frumpy is the word. I was going to do the try on program too until my sister decided to get married in Pasadena (2 blocks from their store!) so I got to try them on. Good luck!

If you’re only trying on a few dresses, then it’s definitely worth the cost to pay to try it on at home.

I love all those dresses! I love all dresses with pockets!
