I've been crafty for as long as I can remember, and will DIY something twice over before I have someone do it for me. I'm a semi-awkward, typeface obsessed, design junkie and have been know to break out my dance moves for no reason as well as try my best to be ridiculous at all times. My love of pop culture, wordplay, and graph paper almost rivals my love of Mr. Giraffe (who is just the bee's knees). After a 2.5 year engagement, we're planning a modern-in-disguise traditional wedding, and cannot wait!

Briar Press Free Ornaments

October 8th, 2010 @ 10:41 am by Mrs. Giraffe

At the Briar Press Website, there is a section that offers free “ornaments” for download! And there are 500 available for (again: FREE) download.

I think these would be a great help for a bride trying to DIY her own invitations or other wedding stationery. Some could also be helpful for DIYing custom monograms.

Briar Press Free Ornaments : wedding chicago decor Rosabor

Briar Press Free Ornaments : wedding chicago decor Garamon

And this one is my personal favorite. :)

Briar Press Free Ornaments : wedding chicago decor Grasset

This next one is just lovely! I think it might have to make its way into our save the dates!

Anybody else find anything good to download, for free?

weddingchicks.com has a a bunch of free templates and custom goodies. I think I am going to use Heart and Arrow Monogram for a couple of my projects.

Those are great. If you like the last one you might look at free ornamental dingbat fonts. SOOO easy to use.

You should scour the Martha Stewart website, too. They always have the templates to download and print, plus the size you should blow it up to so that it prints nicely. Fairly fool-proof.

Thanks for sharing! I wish I knew about those about 4-5 months ago, definetly would have used some. =D

DaFont has some really nice fonts and dingbats which are great for invitations. I created our monogram (which was the primary motif for our stationary) using

Windsong: http://www.dafont.com/search.php?psize=m&q=windsong

Nymphette:

What’s great about dingbat fonts is that you can make it however big or small without losing image quality.

Briarpress is awesome. French Paper Co. also has some great resources.
