After we shared a fantastic dance together and cut our cake, it was time for our family to get in on the celebration.
As we were seated, my father gave a very sweet speech, welcoming our guests and thanking them for making the trip to Happy Valley.

Next, our wonderful priest gave a blessing and shortly afterward the food was served.

After we finished our first course, it was time for Burger’s Brother, his best man, to speak.
His speech was fantastic - he told stories about them growing up together, said some of the sweetest things about Burger that I’ve ever heard, and also told a funny story about the day he and I met.
The love in the room was seriously overflowing.
We raised our glasses and toasted to love and family.
Thank you, K! You are the best brother in law I could have ever hoped for!
Up next was my little sister (who isn’t so little any more) and Maid of Honor.
I am almost seven years older, but we are best friends and basically the same person. She shared with everyone how similar we are, and how we have our own traditions - complete with ridiculous nicknames. She also spoke about Burger and how she had always considered him her brother, which made my heart melt a little bit.
She made me laugh (really, really hard, obviously)
and cry (tears of joy)!
Then we toasted again, to health and happiness and lots of Penn State babies!
Love you, A (the Louise to my Thelma) with all my heart!
I have to say, the pictures above are some of my absolute favorites from our wedding day. The emotions are captured to perfectly, and when I look at them now, I get the same warm fuzzies I had when they spoke.
As the dinner courses continued, Burger and I took the opportunity to dance with our parents. We planned the dances to occur during dinner so that we could enjoy the moment without calling too much attention. We just wanted to share the moment with our loved ones, but obviously if people wanted to watch they could (without feeling pressured to do so).
First up, my Dad and I danced to Father and Daughter by Paul Simon. It’s such a sweet song - I am so glad that we discovered it in the months leading up to our wedding!
Burger and his Mom shared a sweet dance to Sheryl Crow’s cover of Sweet Child O’ Mine - they are too cute, I love these pictures!
Afterward, we finished our meals and started to visit our friends and family members at their dinner tables.
Coming up next, pictures from our awesome Photobooth!
