After cutting our cake, we settled in for toasts!

Mr. FF’s brother / Best Man went first, followed by my sister / Matron of Honor. Of course, being that they are our older siblings (we’re both the babies in our families!) there was a little bit of good-natured ribbing going on.

They did a great job – I know that both my sister and Mr. FF’s brother aren’t the most comfortable with public speaking, but they gave wonderful and touching toasts. Of course, I teared up at my sister’s toast, complete with a quivering chin:

Hello, French Fry cry face! Good to see you again!
Next, my Father gave a toast, thanked everyone for coming, and recited two Irish blessings for me and Mr. FF. He also welcomed Mr. FF to our family as his new son, which meant a lot to Mr. FF.

Finally, Mr. FF’s mom gave a blessing over us as a couple, and said our blessing before dinner.

I had a friend videotape all of the toasts, and I’m so glad I did. Just the other night I re-watched the footage, and they all made me tear up once again. We truly are so lucky to have such wonderful and loving people in our lives.
Mr. FF then got up, thanked everyone for coming. It was important to us to thank everyone, but I have a bit of an aversion to speaking in front of big groups of people. Mr. FF? Not so much. (Zig to my zag and all of that.) Then, unexpectedly, he toasted me, retelling how our relationship evolved and how he knew early on that we were meant to be together.

These are some of my favorites.
With that, the toasts were complete and it was time for everyone to eat! That’s up next.
Miss a chapter?
First, we drove all of our stuff to our venue.
Then, I freaked about the weather forecast.
Next, we rehearsed.
We had a yummy rehearsal dinner!
The girls got glam.
We both got dressed and ready to rock and roll.
Mr. FF watched me walk down the aisle.
We got married!!!
We beat the storm for our bridal party pictures.
We grabbed umbrellas and got lovey-dovey.
I kept it real.
We got a peek at our reception, and made our entrance Miyagi-style.
We ate cake!
