Mrs. Sand Dollar's Picture
Mrs. Sand Dollar, Houston Age and Occupation: 24, Graphic Designer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 22, Electrical Technician Engagement Date: January 8, 2010 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: MacLean Park About Me: I'm a domestic diva down to the core. I heart cooking, sewing, baking, decorating and making sure we have a hand-crafted home. The best part about the wedding is I get to incorporate it all! I make sure I put my art degree to good use by screen printing, craft knife cutting, and a whole lotta graphic design. We're having a big-time party on a small-time budget, and I promise to show you a boot-scootin', barbecue-eatin', finger-lickin' good time! Mr. Sand Dollar and I spend most of our time on DIY projects or traipsing around the outdoors with our two pooches Rory and Juno. I'm looking forward to sharing our journey with all of you!

Somewhere Down in Texas: Me!

October 15th, 2010 @ 12:54 pm by Mrs. Sand Dollar

I swear I’m not a narcissist. I just had too many cute photos to tack on to the end of the bridesmaid post, I promise! Once we took all the girl pictures together, it was time to take a few of just the bride. We started with a little focus on my butterfly bouquet. I’m thrilled with how it all looked, and the pictures really make all the colors pop!

Oh, you need to see it a little closer? Well, ok!

I even made sure he snapped a shot of my lucky Fonz.

If you’ve noticed from the girls and guys pics, our trees have a whole lotta moss growing on them. They’re gigantic trees too, one in our backyard has a 12 foot circumference! It’s a whopper. Just so you know, they make for some romantically dramatic shots.

We lucked out that we chose the perfect time of the day to get married. The light was so amazing, it was unbelievable. Not quite sunset, just an Indian Summer late afternoon. By this point, it was about time to line up for the ceremony, but before I left I needed to show off my boots!

You gotta love how Spanish Moss looks way better in photos than it does in real life. I adore your bouquet. It’s great that you’ll have something that will last for years to come. Right now I’m spinning at the cost of preserving my bouquet after the wedding… yikes!

These photos are absolutely incredible - you look amazing, and the light is incredible, and the colours just pop! I hope you don’t mind me saying, but I don’t think you spent that much on photgraphy, right? It just goes to show you don’t need a 5k photographer - great talent is great talent! Congrats!

@Kate: You’re right, and I’m not ashamed to say it! For under $1000 buckaroos, I got 8 hours of coverage, and a disk of images with full rights that arrived two weeks after the wedding. The resolution on the pictures provided lets me print them up to 8×12″ size! I’m so excited, I already went to Hobby Lobby to buy a bunch of frames half off. I totally recommend The Pros, they’re the best!
