Zeb and I waited a good eight or so months before asking our bridal party to stand by us on our special day. Well, that’s not entirely true. Brittany was the first call I made after we got engaged seeing as how my mother had already witnessed it, his mother was at the play, and my father already knew what was going on. (We celebrated with shots and Zeb’s father later on in the evening.)
“Get your MOH speech ready Britt, Zeb and I are getting hitched!”
Anywho, my bridesmaids are special to me and they deserved to be asked in a special way.
I have seven Bridesmaids and a Junior Bridesmaid, making eight altogether. I tried to be stealth and surprise them with an invitation to a “girls night” but I’m pretty sure they saw right through it. Among them are 2 sisters-in-law, 4 friends, and 2 cousins. The ladies who mean the world to me.

I love Rhode Island…you know why? Rhode Island is such a tight knit community. Growing up in Massachusetts, I never quite realized the power of Rhody pride. Once I started to work in RI and become friends with some Rhody coyotes I realized how important their small community is. One of my best Rhody friends was dating a chef at the time. He’s got amazing talent and cooked a mouthwatering meal for my BMs and me at the low, low price of a case of Narragansett beer. No word of a lie—a case of beer for a gourmet meal. Believe you me, we bought ginger root for the sauce base—this was a good friggin’ dinner. We drank a little vino while our chef extraordinaire did his thang, and then we watched a movie. Perhaps you’ve heard of it? It’s called Wedding Crashers.
So, Rhode Island aside, when my ladies came in, they were greeted with a little present asking them if they’d be willing to participate in our wedding. Believe it or not hive, the gifts I gave them were sitting in a zebra print box. Fate? I do believe! Lucky for me, they all said yes. We had a lovely night as a prerequisite to the hell I was about to put them through dress shopping. I bought the necklaces (and bracelets for Britt and Lil) at the Van Heusen outlet in Dartmouth, MA.

So there you have it, the special night I planned for mah ladies!
