Motivation & Music

October 18th, 2010 @ 10:59 am by Ms. Stripes

Hiya.

Sorry for all the pointless apologies and start/stop blogging around here lately. I guess you could say I’m in transition? I’m figuring out how to go from being a bride, naturally interested in ALL things wedding, to a normal person, interested in art and food and travel and hanging out with my wife on the couch. Big Sigh. Being a normal person is great! Unfortunately though, normal people aren’t so interested in writing howtomakeyourownawesomebowtietutorials and other such nonsense. Normal people have free time to throw baby showers, redo blogs, decorate their homes, and attend other people’s weddings. Just saying we’re not spending ALL our time on the couch!

That said I’m doing my best to motivate and share all the projects/thoughts about our wedding/marriage that I just never got around to. So today let’s talk about our music selection, and then maybe, just maybe, I’ll find it in myself to share a few more projects. Maybe I’ll even write a tutorial or two.

As I’ve mentioned before, music is most definitely Wifey Stripes domain. Completely and totally. Though that doesn’t stop me from being that annoying person who can’t name a single song/artist when prompted, but still has a strong opinion about what music I do/do not like. God I’m so annoying sometimes.

Anyhow, in the end we only had to agree on three songs (well, four if you count the first dance we skipped in favor of dancing to Michael Jackson!). So hopefully I didn’t drive W Stripes too crazy. Sorry baby! And so without further ado, I present our ceremony music selections.

Our family, officiant & ‘maids walked to:

And it looked a little something like this:

We walked to:

In case you need a (beautiful! isn’t she beautiful?!) visual:

And we ended up like so:

And we recessed to:

And our friends and family actually waved all the flags! Seriously—we stopped and looked back and marveled at it:

And there you have the Stripey music selection. Honestly I have very little recollection of the ceremony music, but I think it was all a little wonky due to our total and complete lack of rehearsal. Still I LOVE our selections and am curious if anyone else is using any of these songs in their own wedding?

Oh! And in case you’re thinking of skipping your first dance in favor of a little MJ—well we didn’t regret it too too much:
