Alright, enough with the serious posts. It’s time to be silly. And you know what I think is the epitome of silly?

Fake mustaches!
I wasn’t so sure about this trend at first, but I’ve come to fully embrace it. I think it’s adorable, hilarious, and whimsical and I’ve decided I absolutely have to have them at my wedding. We needed some props for our photo booth anyways, so it works out perfectly!
After all of the wedding drama we’ve had lately, I decided to do some fun wedding projects this weekend. So I drug Mr. Cardy to all of my favorite craft stores to track down the perfect supplies, and when we got home I settled in for some silly crafting.
I set out all of my supplies, including the templates I printed off from Martha Stewart and another website I found.

I was planning on using black and brown felt, but Hobby Lobby was out of brown and I decided gray would be a cute alternative! So, I got to tracing and cutting!

So cute! I had a really hard time figuring out how to do the black ones because I didn’t have any white chalk laying around to trace them, and I couldn’t find anything else that would show up on the felt. I ended up just holding one of the gray ones on top as I cut around it, which seriously difficult and annoying, but it was all I could think of at the time. I cut for what seemed like forever, then it was finally time for the fun part – putting it all together!

My trusty hot glue gun! This thing has become my BFF throughout this whole wedding planning process.
This project REALLY hurt my hand after a while, and I got pretty frustrated with it because I absolutely loathe cutting things, but I think it was all worth it in the end.

All finished!
Of course, we had to try them out. Mr. Cardy and I decided the dogs should get to model them first. They weren’t too excited, but with some persuasion (in the form of their favorite treat, a fish oil pill), they finally sat still long enough to model for us.

I also wanted to try them out on an actual human, so Mr. Cardigan tried one out too.

I love ‘em! It was a super easy project that only took me two episode of America’s Next Top Model to finish! I can’t wait to get some cute photos with our bridal party, and then see how much fun our guests have with them in the photo booth!
If you had a photo booth, what kind of props did you use for it? Are you a fan of the fake mustache trend, or no?
