About Ms. Sloth

Makin’ It Up

October 19th, 2010 @ 9:06 am by Ms. Sloth

I have a bad habit. Well, I have lots of bad habits, but I’m only going to discuss one today: I spend way too much money at Sephora on makeup that I never use.

I love makeup. Love, love, love it. But I work at a casual office where I never get up from my desk, so my everyday routine is just enough to make me look like I’m not a corpse—concealer, mineral foundation, blush, mascara, and lip balm. Nights and weekends are usually spent being lazy with Mr. S. When I go out, I’ll wear makeup, but those nights are increasingly rare (trying to save money for a wedding + natural inclination to be lazy = hermit).

But yeah. I have a ton of makeup that just gathers dust.

So I’m excited to actually wear some of it on my wedding day. In order to find inspiration, I went on a search for celebrities with coloring that’s similar to mine.

This is me after a long night of drinking (hence the goofy smile and sweated-off makeup):

Pale skin, darkest brown hair, and brown eyes.

And here are some inspiration photos that I found:

They’re all fairly similar. Defined eyes (some much more than others). Peachy cheeks. A strong but subtle lip. I already own all the products necessary to make this happen. I’m excited!

Which is your favorite? Did you use celebrity photos as makeup inspiration?

Anne Hathaway pretty much nail the look I want to go for, fresh, youthful, and all around beautiful. I am the same way with makeup, can’t wait for someone to put it all to good use!

Oooh a few of these were my rehearsal dinner makeup inspiration! I highly recommend a very good gel eyeliner if you’re wanting something that won’t smudge. The MAC version worked wonders on me! I have about your coloring, and did the black eyeliner with some subtle eye shading, and a bold pink lip!

I adore Marion Cotillard. She was my hair inspiration for our engagement photos!

I think you look a lot like Anne Hathaway. Kinda crazy seeing the pictures right next to each other.

I do the same thing at sephora. It’s like my ability to calculate cost goes out the window as soon as I walk in there. And, I also seem to forget that I don’t wear a lot of makeup.

You look so much like Anne Hathaway!! Same eye shape and everything! I do like her look best, though.

Her simple but deeper apricot lip (Stila makes the bestttt lip gloss to achieve this look, but you may already have it!) and peach blush look gorgey porgey. I’d add some corner falsies, though!

ha this past weekend between Sephora and Haute Look we spent over $200 on wedding day make up. BUT I can justify it because I wear make-up all day everyday ha ha

I did use a celebrity for inspiration- Eva Longoria. I really love all of your inspiration photos. Very classic. I went too dramatic and regret it a bit. But since it was my only wedding day regret, so its not too bad.
