Hello hive! Long time no talk?
I’ve been quite the little video editor this week, editing videos for two weddings Mr. Dolphin and I have been to in the past few months. When Mr. Dolphin and I first saw our highlights video it instantly took us back to that day, that special moment in our lives. We knew video was incredibly important to us and we were so happy the lovely Erika Rydell was able to be there to capture our day so beautifully.
Recently, Mr. Dolphin and I went to two weddings, one for my cousin up in Erie, PA (we drove, we are crazy) and one for his cousin in St. Augustine, FL. Both weddings were sans videographer. We wanted our cousins to have fun little videos from their weddings because a video shows emotion and the mood of a wedding so much better then any photo could ever show (we believe). Luckily, Mr. Dolphin and I are always equipped with a ridiculous amount of video/photo equipment everywhere we go (remember our honeymoon video?).
Here are the two videos I’ve been having so much fun editing. I smiled the whole time I edited these videos. How could you not with such cute couples? Yeah, I may have cried too. I get way to wrapped up in the song/video combo, or I’m just an emotional wreck. Who knows.

My cousin’s Erie, PA wedding. We decided mid-reception to become their unofficial videographer. So happy we did.

When the bride started crying during the ceremony I knew at that moment I HAD to be their unofficial videographer (while Mr. Dolphin did his duties escorting the Mother of the Groom). They are so sweet, and I totally cried a few times while making their video. I’m a sap.
I’ve sort of halted recaps until we receive our FULL wedding video from our videographer because I think recaps are sooo much more fun with video (as we can see by Mrs Scissors‘ recaps). Plus, it’s a little difficult to show you how much practice we put into our first dance without some practice video cut-in with some of the real thing at our reception. You know you want to see Mr. Dolphin and me practicing our first dance… it is utter hilariousness. Poor Mr. Dolphin worked so hard to learn how to dance. What a sweet face.
I’ve been focusing tons of post-wedding attention on our wedding album (which is almost done! Yippee!) and can’t wait to reveal the final product. I plan to put together little packages for family at Christmas, complete with wedding album, wedding video (of course with a fabulously designed case) and prints.
So, here’s my question for y’all: How important was it to you to have video at your wedding? Are you finding difficulties fitting it into your budget? Have you found creative solutions to fitting videography into your budget?
