Halloween Inspiration from Martha Stewart

This past Tuesday, a couple of bloggers and peeps in the wedding industry were invited for a studio tour of the Martha Stewart Show.  I’ve been lucky to attend a number of tapings, but this was the first time I actually got to look at the set up close and personal!

Martha is a pro when it comes to styling, and her studio is no exception. Everything was decked out in Halloween decor, with no detail overlooked. I thought it might provide you with some styling inspiration, particularly if you’re having a fall event. Read on for pictures galore!

Skulls interspersed between white pumpkins were placed at the bottom of the staircase.

Oversized white gourds lined the stairs.

The ubiquitous candy buffet gets the gothic treatment displayed in black containers.

Martha’s stash of white dinnerware was swapped out for silver and black pieces.

Everything on Martha’s set actually works. This is the view from behind the counter looking out into the audience. The guest of the day was Josh Charles of The Good Wife, who helped Martha cook beef fajitas.

I long for an oversized kitchen sink like this!

Dahlias are such dramatic flowers.

Gourds come in so many different colors, sizes, and textures. They make for interesting centerpieces and vessels.

Pegboards are an interesting and inexpensive way to display and organize items.

Even the books on the shelves had spooky titles!

This would be an easy and pretty way to display photos at a wedding. Check out the silly googly eyes in the third picture.

These scary frames were made by attaching skeletons with gauze to regular picture frames.

A couple won a Martha Stewart Sandals wedding back in February, and this is a recreation of their actual reception table. You can catch a special about the whole shebang at 9pm on the Style Network this Saturday. (image source: Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia)

How fun would a Halloween themed shower, bachelorette party, or even wedding be?  You’re never too old for Halloween! :)
