Mrs. Sand Dollar, Houston Age and Occupation: 24, Graphic Designer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 22, Electrical Technician Engagement Date: January 8, 2010 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: MacLean Park About Me: I'm a domestic diva down to the core. I heart cooking, sewing, baking, decorating and making sure we have a hand-crafted home. The best part about the wedding is I get to incorporate it all! I make sure I put my art degree to good use by screen printing, craft knife cutting, and a whole lotta graphic design. We're having a big-time party on a small-time budget, and I promise to show you a boot-scootin', barbecue-eatin', finger-lickin' good time! About Mrs. Sand Dollar

Mmmmm….this was a pretty day. The sun was setting, the shadows were long, and a rogue helper decided to carve a heart in our ceremony tree. I had no idea he’d done it until afterward, when people pointed it out. I have to admit, even though it’s not the most environmentally friendly thing to do, I love looking at pictures of it, and secretly wish I had thought of it. We all lined up, and the music began to play.

I love looking at these groom pictures. The faces are so sweet. I took a deep breath, and my parents and I started down the aisle.

I chose to have both parents walk me down to keep a bit of tradition alive. I’m not a huge fan of “giving the bride away,” but I wanted to have a kind of public declaration of support of our marriage. Though I kept the walk down the aisle, once we made it down I gave them a hug and then walked up to join my groom. I nixed the whole “Who gives this woman away” bit.

I love this picture. And this one too…

Just in case you were wondering, I kind of like Mr. SD too.

How handsome is this little guy? He’s a heartbreaker, make no doubt about it. Once we all got into place, it was time to get this party started.

This was the one moment of the day when I wasn’t worried. I wasn’t stressed. I was completely 100% in the moment, and it was awesome. I couldn’t stop smiling.

The tree was perfect! Love it! And I cannot get over how adorable those butterfly bouquets are and they look so good in pictures! I think I am going to make those for my flower girls.

I absolutely L.O.V.E…

-The picture (6th one down) of Mr. Starfish looking into your eyes. It’s all over his face how happy he is and it is 1,000% adorable

-How stunning the long shadows looks as you were saying your vows

-The fact you walked back down the aisle to “Little White Church” <3

Gorgeous wedding Mrs. Starfish!

oh Mrs. SD your wedding has been such an inspiration to me. Fiance has always dreamed of jeans and cowboy boots at our wedding and I just couldn’t picture it….that is until you started posting recaps. Your wedding party really pulled it off! And I hope you don’t mind, but I’ll be trying to copy them as much as possible!! Your wedding was absolutely beautiful! congratulations!!

I love the shots of each of your faces during the ceremony…they capture such great emotion. I also adore the heart in the tree.
