Mrs. Elephant, Dallas, TX Age and Occupation: 27, Financial Operations Analyst Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, IT Student/Store Manager Engagement Date: March 29, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: The Tribute Golf Club About Me: I'm a Philly native creating roots deep in the heart of Texas. I might be a little obsessed capturing those Kodak moments of anything and everything (mainly on vacations). I've become more of a gamer thanks to Mr. Elephant, who I met online and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with. We are planning a wedding based on our favorite colors, blue and green, with a travel theme for 150 of our closest friends and family. Hopefully our long (2-year) engagement won't kill me!

To Infinity…and Beyond!

October 22nd, 2010 @ 11:05 am by Mrs. Elephant

As a side note, I always seem to think of Toy Story whenever we head to Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Anywho, Bed, Bath & Beyond was an easy pick for us when we were deciding on where to register. We became quiet familiar with the BB&B registry system in 2009 with 5 weddings to attend, and who doesn’t love to use those 20% off coupons and get more bang for your buck?

I actually set up the registry at a bridal show (to get a free pair of salad tongs) last year but never added any items - I really wanted to include Mr. E in this wedding experience. We headed to the store on a weekday, so the store was fairly empty, and we were able to get assistance right away.

Mr. E waiting for the guy to get the scanner

We selected some “casual china” from the book and then were on our own to scan our little hearts out. I must admit, Mr. E became quite the scanning pro during our time there.

We selected items for the bathroom, future bedroom (after the wedding, once we get into a new house we will be upgrading to a king size bed. Can. not. wait!), kitchen, entertaining items, dining and more.

We were in BB&B for a little over an hour before we realized we were cutting it close for our cake tasting (more on that later). We did some rush scanning in the kitchen utensils and figured we could either go back later or update it online.

Would you like to see some other items on our list?

“L” Monogram Coasters - Corny, I know but I really was excited about registering for items with my new last initial.

Did you register in the store or online? If you went the store route, did you take your FI with you? Were you surprised to see a couple items on your list that your FI added while you weren’t looking? I know I was. ;)

Oh godness, there’s an Inifiniti that commutes to the same city as I do in the morning, and her license plate readds “NBEYOND”

We got those same coasters but with a “M” I was pretty excited to receive them at my shower!

BB&B is so hot for registering. We registered at Target and Amazon from Japan (online). When we finally got to America I took Mr. G to a Target store to update our registry and he was SO. ANNOYED!

Cute china! Whenever I think of BB&B I think of the Family Guy where Peter is in the store, stumbles into the gravity-less expanse of the “Beyond” and says, “Oh, THAT’s where the mugs are.”

we just registered at target yesterday and my FI kept scanning everything we walked past! thankfully the scanner wouldn’t let him scan things like food. Oh he tried.

I really like that bedding though!

My mother has those same coasters! She got them when she was married and her married last name began with L. Her first name also starts with L and she still uses them, even though she’s now divorced, and just says the L is for her first name. LOL.

We went to BB&B too this past weekend with our officiant and his FI. So much fun (for us, they had more trouble deciding on things). We ended up staying there for 2-3 hours and cut it close to our pre-marital class that evening.
Pretty much everything was for the kitchen- mostly gadgets we have really wanted (like a plunger measuring cup!) but can’t find locally.

@ohheavenlyday: LOL, that’s funny because I’ll be the same as your mom, with the same first and last initial… Mr. E always says when I pick things with an L that it’s not for us, it’s for my first name haha.

@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: You can totally lose track of time in that place! If we didn’t have another appointment after we probably could have spent another hour there. Good thing I was able to add the rest online.

Those coasters are great we have them with a our intial on them. They really do absord the sweat from glasses of iced beverages.

@jordynrose: Thanks!! Mr. E is a “no floral bedding” guy, which seems to knock out a lot of options.
