Mrs. Cola, Mountain View, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Product Communications and Promotions Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Managing Partner and Senior Designer Engagement Date: March 5, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: The Mountain Terrace, Woodside, CA About Me: I’m a Washington State native, enjoying life in Silicon Valley California with my fiancé, our three kitties and one leopard gecko. I like reading wedding blogs, Photoshopping wedding design mock ups, making lists, and planning, planning, planning! I’m a bit of an anomaly, on one side I’m a very girlie girl, I collect shoes, I lay out my outfits 4-6 weeks in advance, and I’d never leave the house without my hair curled and makeup on. But on the other side, I’m a total tomboy, I love to go camping and hiking, play drinking games (hey, I’m Irish!) and most of my closest friends are guys. My fiancé and I are planning a DIY-focused wedding with a balance between easygoing (what he wants) and chic and stylish (what I want), and are tying it all together with elements in lavender, sage, butter cream and chocolate.
About Mrs. Cola

About 45 minutes after dinner ended and we had our first dance, it was time for some wedding activities! First up was the bouquet toss.

I know lots of couples decide not to do the bouquet and garter tosses these days, but for us they were just fun traditions, that have been done at almost every wedding we’ve been to. So we figured, why not?

Our MC groomsman made the announcement, and ladies started gathering to one side of the bar. I surveyed my targets.

I finally spotted who I was going to aim for, and made sure she knew my eyes were on her!

Then I did a fake out throw! I love the below guest photo because you can see just how badly our officiant’s girlfriend wanted to catch it, and my sister looks like she’s saying, “hey, what the hell is with the fake throw!”

I figured more than one fake toss would just be cruel, so I went ahead with the real toss.

I quickly spun around to find out who had caught it.

It turns out it was my cousin (with her arms in the air in the above photo). This was apparently the third bouquet she’s caught, so hopefully good luck comes in 3s in her case!

I tossed a silk bouquet with lottery tickets attached to it and encouraged all the girls to come that wanted to get luck that night….same for the boys but with a garter. i thought it was a fun alternative then singling out single ladies or men! :)

`@HELLOLVR: Ohh yeah, I wanna know, too!!

I don’t think we’ll do the toss - I hate singling out the singles like there’s something wrong with singlehood, and really love the idea of instead honoring the couple that’s been together the longest with an honorary bouquet. (There were a lotta “singles” in that sentence…)
