About Mrs. Hot Wings

Happy Halloween: Couples' Costumes : wedding relationships san diego 1769240 1769240

Mr Hot Wings and I have a pretty strong history of doing a couple’s costume for Halloween. Our first year as a married couple in a new city meant that we didn’t have any invitations to big halloween events. So, we celebrated a different kind of Halloween this year. We got pumpkin beers, pumpkin desserts and made ourselves a fancy steak salad dinner. Not too shabby, right?

In honor of celebrating Halloween as a couple, I wanted to share some of my favorite couples’ costumes with the hive.

Above you see our super couple. That was our first year of dating. We realize that Supergirl and Superman are actually first cousins. So we haven’t repeated this costume since. Oops. Isn’t it cute, though?

This is probably my favorite couples’ costume because it was so appropriate for our profession. Mr Hot Wings dressed as Professor Wolf and I as Little Red Undergrad. This was a DIY outfit that I was quite proud of. Mr Hot Wings didn’t love it because he was uncomfortable in his wolf get up. I, on the other hand, got to look all cute and pretty.

Lastly, this ninja costume was pretty awesome. We got our ninja outfits at an actual Tae Kwon Do studio. They were a bit on the expensive side, but don’t they look totally sweet? This photo is probably one of my faves too because our friend shot this photo from such an interesting angle.

Mr Hot Wings indulges me in costume shopping and dressing as a couple. He’s such a keeper. So even though we didn’t get dressed up this year, I know it won’t be a problem to get him in one in the future. We have the rest of our lives for Halloween partying, right?

I do know what I want our next costumes to be, though. I want to be a ghost family. Mr HW and I would dress up as ghosts and we would each hold a white helium balloon. The balloon would be covered with some cloth to create flying little ghost children.

So, what about you? How have you and/or will you spend Halloween? And did you know there’s a Halloween costume contest going on in the hive? Check it out.

I have such admiration for those who manage to pull off couples’ costumes…we never do! This year he was a samurai and I was Clara Bow. http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/7899/couple2010.jpg
I also like the Prof. Wolf and Little Red Undergrad costumes. Cute idea. About being related as Superman and Woman…FI and I almost went as little Anakin and Darth Vader, which we thought would have been f’ing hysterical. Same idea, sort of.

Love it! Every year we’ve been together we’ve done a couple costume. First was French Maid & Millionaire, then Little Red & Big Bad Wolf (popular choice it seems!), and this year we were both vampires!

Um, we were Vader and Leia, who are father and daughter, this year. I may have made some crude jokes. Love the Prof. Wolf and Little Red Undergrad.

I love the ninja one, you get to look bad arse all night long. This year we went as Al & Peg Bundy. I wore far too much make-up.
