I knew it. I knew it!

Indecision 2010 : wedding philadelphia wedding dress Indecis

I totally knew that when I bought my dress I’d end up regretting it and wish I had something else. I knew it because while I liked the dress, I didn’t love it, and I knew it because I am so damned indecisive sometimes, especially when I have so much time to change my mind.

The Enzoani dress is beautiful and flattering, and it fits me like a glove. And after suffering through a ton of shopping trips and getting more and more frustrated, I resigned myself to the fact that I wasn’t going to find a dress that I loved and that I was better off finding one that fit.

But every time I looked at the photo of it, I just felt blah. The dress was pretty, but it wasn’t me. It wasn’t our venue. It just wasn’t right for the wedding. If I was getting married in an elegant, modern ballroom, maybe I’d be OK with the dress. But it was all wrong for our casual, rustic, garden wedding, and I couldn’t ignore the nagging feeling that I could find something else.

Everyone kept saying, “You have your dress—stop looking for others.” But I couldn’t do that. So I headed back out to good old David’s Bridal. And it was perfect timing. First of all, their new collection is out, and there were a lot of dresses I hadn’t gotten the chance to try on during my first trip there. And secondly, everything was on sale!

And guess what? I found a dress. And when I tried it on, I totally had “the feeling” that I never expected to get. I was sort of giddy. I didn’t want to take it off. I wanted to spin around and dance in it. It is flattering on my body, it’s perfect for our venue, and it was less than half the price of the Enzoani.

Since I’ve already inundated you with a crap ton of dress posts and photos, I think I’m going to keep the actual dress under wraps for a little bit. I want to surprise you. You’ll see it eventually.

Next step: getting my deposit back from the first gown. I think I can, I think I can.

Did you regret your wedding gown after you bought it? Did you buy another one or stick with the original?

YES!! I felt the exact same way you did and everyone told me I was crazy for continuing to worry and look. I had a dress that looked good on, but it just wasn’t “me”. Didn’t fit our venue, my style, the ceremony style - nothing. So, I went and found a new one… and everyone loves it. Even my bridesmaid who kept getting mad at me every time I said I wasn’t sure about my first dress can’t stop gushing over how perfect it is. My gut insitinct was right, and so was yours it seems. Good for you!

Look at it this way, if the DB dress is half the price of the other and you DON’T get your deposit back, you’ll still be saving money.

I’m glad you found The One!!

I regret buying my dress so early. I have to force myself to look the other way when I pass bridal shops or look in magazines. My dress is gorgeous, but I guess I’ve been staring at it for too long..I love it, but I’ve fallen in love with a few others too…so I think I need to spend some alone time trying it on again to rekindle my love :)

Haha, trust me, guys, it’s not that big a deal. It’s a great dress, but very simple, nothing too exciting. :) You’ll see it soon.
