As special as the first dance is purported to be, we giggled throughout ours and felt Very Aware that all eyes were on us. Later, we would belt out Journey karaoke in front of our guests and not feel half as self-conscious as we did during the first dance!
Luckily, we’d chosen Ingrid Michaelson’s “I Way I Am,” which is only 2 minutes and 15 seconds long.

Me: Pretend we’re alone!!

Us: Nope, everyone is definitely staring at us.

Our Best Women and Best Men gave speeches. My sister’s was sweet…

my BFF’s was heartfelt…

…and Mr. Potato Head’s brother’s was funny (as he welcomed me into the family as “the only person in our family who can get a tan…”).

And then, our friend the Wild Card, who charmed our guests with tales of Mr. Potato Head’s youth, suggestive/embarrassing stories and all!

We were dying laughing as the toast turned into a roast and my sister gave Groomsman D the “wrap it up” symbol (out of love and good-nature, we’re all close friends). I love Mr. PH’s expression in this picture!

I’m pretty sure he could have gone on for hours. But we had eating, dancing, and karaoking to get to!
