Merrily Married: Holiday Cards!

November 2nd, 2010 @ 12:45 pm by Mrs. Starfish

I know Halloween has just come and gone, but I love Christmas, so you’ll have to bear with me. This Christmas, I really want to send cheesy “Hey, we got married!” holiday cards. So, we are definitely doing some type of photo card. I was tempted to go the DIY route, but when I looked at our list it seemed a bit long, I also think just making and writing out about 100 thank you cards didn’t help the DIY Christmas card cause either. Sometimes, it’s just better to buy.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Christm So, I was super excited to find a piece on holiday cards in the most recent issue of Real Simple magazine. They list out places to buy digital holiday cards, photo cards, newsletters, etc. It was the perfect list for me. After a few clicks of the mouse, I’ve already found a few I like.

I love this one from Minted. I’m so indecisive and know it will be hard to choose a photo, so being able to include four works for me.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Min D42 The great thing about Minted is the little add-ons. I love coordinating and they make it so easy. This card is a great example.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Min E15 Inside the card you can leave it blank, add an additional photo and text, or include a timeline.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Min E1501 They also include optional backers, since you can do a folded or flat card.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Min E1502 Then you can even add envelope liners and skinny address labels.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Min E1503 Tinyprints had a ton of options for including photos, but my favorite is the mistletoe kiss photo card. I don’t think I would use this for any year other than this, but for some reason it’s more acceptable to be cheesy and show a little PDA when you are a newlywed.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery 101 Hello Lucky! has a really cute newsletter. I’ve always enjoyed getting updates from family members who do this, but I don’t think Mr. Starfish and I have enough to share. This one may have to wait for when we have kids.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Hpca Vi Lastly, I found cards that are pretty perfect from Wiley Valentine. I love that they kind of flow with the starfish design from all of our wedding paper products.

Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Englefi Merrily Married: Holiday Cards! : wedding newport stationery Englefi01

Now Mr. Starfish and I just need to narrow it down. Do you have a favorite?

Will you be sending out holiday cards this year to show off your new engaged or married status?

And, don’t forget to check out the Minted Holiday Cards Giveaway on the blog!

I love those Minted timeline cards, we based our STD’s on those!
We’re doing Tiny Prints holiday cards with a wedding photo this year - they just came in and they look great! Good luck making a decision, those are all great options!

I wanna do cards (first time!) but probably won’t use a wedding photo…Instead I’m gonna use one with our new puppy! Note to self: Must figure this one out soon!

We’re thinking about cards already too! I’m hoping to use one engagement picture and one holiday picture.

I did a Tiny Prints photo holiday card last year. FI and I had just gotten engaged a couple of months earlier and it served as an engagement announcement. I got a lot of compliments on it and it is now on my fridge and in my office.

Oh, I’m glad I’m not the only one who wants to send out cheesy “we’re married!” Christmas cards.

I can’t wait to send out Christmas cards next year with our wedding picture, seeing the Minted giveaway on the blog made me so impatient to sent out cute cards of my own!

We did photo Christmas cards last year to announce that we’d purchased and moved into our first home together, and we’ll be doing them again this year featuring our marriage. The ones from Minted are absolutely beautiful, but a bit expensive if you have a long list of recipients, especially once you factor in postage. We saved money going the Walgreens route last year; we’ll see what ends up fitting in the budget this year. Those lovely and fun designs are awfully tempting.

We’ve been sending holiday cards out as a couple for YEARS already. This year will be no different. But I don’t think we’ll be sending out anything wedding related. We’ll be sending out TY cards shortly. So…I really don’t think other ppl really want to see another of our wedding pics on a card for the holidays as well!

The first (especially) and second one. I can’t wait to send out our first cards as newlyweds.

I always love sending Holiday cards and am very eager to figure ours out…I want to use a wedding photo, but Mr. L thinks it might be cuter if we have a family portrait done with both the pups dressed in cute getups. Not sure which way we are leaning yet, but we need to get on it ASAP!

hahaha when I saw the Minted post the other day, I got to work straightaway on our Christmas cards too! Still debating which picture to put in, but we’ve almost got it!

It’ll be so fun to send them!

All of those are adorable! I really want to do these for us too, but I don’t know if we’ll have our pictures back in time.

You could also check out some of the stuff AmazingMail has to offer within their galleries. Their card process is easy to use and the prints are great looking!

The last card is my favorite. It’s gonna be so hard to choose a design for ours. :)
