Why the Hive Is the Bob-omb!

November 2nd, 2010 @ 9:15 am by Mrs. Giraffe

Get it? Bob-omb? Bomb? A super outdated ’90s phrase? What more could you want?!

So remember a little while ago when I showed you all some super crazy but super awesome Mario cakes? Well, if you don’t remember, or even if you do, here are a few new ones to remind you all how fantastic it is to combine both weddings and geekiness.

The amazing (not to mention totally talented!) Littlelynx commented on that blog post that she should share her Bob-omb brownies that she makes. You can imagine my total happiness and surprise when I found that she had posted them on the Boards. Visit the post for her recipe and instructions (just scroll down a little). OK, are you ready for this? I can’t hold it in any longer! They’re perfect!

I know, right?! So freaking cute! I’m like trying to find the right words to describe how much I love them. Would saying I would, like, rub them all over my face totally cross a line? Probably…anyway! They look just like the “real” thing, don’t they?

So, if you’re having a Mario cake, I think you’ve all found your favors!!

Anybody else have something amazingly geeky that would be perfect for a wedding? Obscure question, I know, but I can’t help it! Nerdy things make me happy!

I think I found my next baking project!

We showing our geek in FH’s groom’s cake. It wasn’t even a question what we wanted. We’re getting the TARDIS. Even our baker got excited for it (and it’s going to taste amazing too)

My friend’s wedding had a Super Mario Brother’s wedding cake from a bakery in Chicago. It looked amazing and tasted delicious. Double points!

I have no idea about video games at all so I think edibles is a great way to incorporate a theme that not everybody would be familiar with. Even though I don’t know the character I would appreciate the yumminess

We are incorporating our geekiness into the wedding. My fiance and the groomsmen are walking down the aisle to the Imperial March from Star Wars and I will be walking down to the theme from Princess Bride. We also have a registry through ThinkGeek.

SO SO SO CUTE!!!!! I assume these are sorta like cakepops. LOVE them. I’m gonna make variations with different color “feet” and “faces” with my nieces for Christmas.

OMG! Those are awesome. Our cake is going to be an 8 bit nintendo with a wii on top and our cake topper, wooden bride and groom with a question mark block (can’t remember the name of them! argh!).
So this would be totally awesome to go with!
