About Mrs. Panther

Obi, Oh Boy

November 3rd, 2010 @ 2:34 pm by Mrs. Panther

I just impulse-bought a hair piece for the wedding—oops! Sure, I’m still deciding whether or not to wear a veil, and yeah, I have no idea what I want to do with my hair yet. But whatever it is, I really hope I can work this in!

I spotted it on Etsy in the Hanami Gallery shop a couple of months ago. I bookmarked it, and I’ve been peeking at it every so often. It’s made from obi silk that the seller bought in Japan, and it’s a one-of-a-kind item, so I was really afraid that if I waited, someone else would snatch it up. Anyway, the vintage rhinestone pin, the gold and silver thread, the vaguely dahlia-reminiscent shape…I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. So I bought it! It was $78, which isn’t horrible. If I absolutely can’t make it work with my dress, I’ll work it into a shower or rehearsal-dinner outfit. I’ll wear it at some point, I swear!

Does anyone else have impulse-buying issues?

I impulse-bought 3 different hair accessories off of ETSY. Hopefully I can wear them at some point. If not, i’ll try to sell or gift them!

I ended up buying a lot of different accessories and didn’t decide which ones to wear until the day before the wedding. I love the color and subtle sparkle of your hair piece! Can’t wait to see how you work it into your wedding/ pre-wedding!

That brooch is absolutely beautiful…maybe pin it to a purse or hat to make a statement if u can’t find the right dress..I’d go to J Crew to look for a special occasion dress that would go with it, nice find!

It is very pretty. Etsy is very addicting when it comes to accessories. I made the mistake of buying the hair piece I tried on when I found my dress. I regretted it soon after since I did not know what I was going to do with my hair either. Too bad I did not see the NO RETURN policy at that store. I know I just got caught up in the moment. grrrrr. I am going to see if I can use it if not, well, Im sure it wont be the first (or last thing) I buy that wont be incuded in our celebration.

It so pretty! And yea if you can’t wear it for the actual wedding there are so many other times you can wear it, as you pointed out!…so I say Miss Panther, Good Job & Good Buy!

Gorgeous! I impulse bought a Jennifer Behr headband that I did not end up wearing. This I regret.

Double cute, Miss P!
I don’t have an impulse buy problem. . . yet. . . but all of the sudden I keep wanting to buy things “for the wedding” or just because I think I need them ;-). You know how it goes.

I have a huge impulse buying problem, but sometimes it turns out to be a good thing! If it weren’t for my impulse buys of things that could possibly be in the wedding decor we may have been without centerpieces!

etsy’s is truly a dangerous place! it’s a beautiful hair flower, so i completely understand your impulse.

Wow, it’s beautiful. I’m sure you’ll find a time to wear it. I’m trying not to impulse buy too.
