I love to sing and dance, despite the fact that I lack any talent doing either. I somehow manage to be messy and organized at the same time. I like to spend my days road tripping, watching '80s movies, reading true crime books, buying things on sale, sending postcards, playing board games, dining at food trucks, snuggling, and drinking ginger ale. I have a weak spot for all things sweet, especially Mr. Cheetah! I’m a Chicago girl and he’s a Nor Cal boy but we love living in the City of Angels. After 10 years as a couple we are planning a fun-filled semi-destination wedding in Palm Springs. Hope you enjoy the ride!

But It’s for the Wedding!

November 4th, 2010 @ 5:10 pm by Ms Cheetah

Tomorrow is the Cheetah engagement photo session and I’m currently completely raiding my wardrobe, trying to figure out what to wear. In fact, our bedroom looks like it’s been hit with a clothing tidal wave. This is what our bed currently looks like:

Personal photo of my comfy bed

We’ll be changing into 2 outfits—I have a new dress and I’ll likely pair these shoes with something more casual—I’m just not sure what yet (hence the apparel tsunami). At least I know our clothes won’t be wrinkled, because yesterday I used a 20% off Bed, Bath & Beyond coupon to pick up one of these bad boys:

The Shark Press & Refresh Garment Steamer

I have wanted a garment steamer for years, but since I already own a pretty nice iron, it just didn’t make sense to spend money on one. But then I kept thinking about all the wedding related uses for the steamer; engagement photo outfits, bridesmaid dresses, my veil, and maybe even my wedding gown. Although I’m scared to actually do anything to my dress myself—are personal steamers safe for wedding gowns?

It’s not the first time I’ve use the wedding as an excuse to buy something, I finally got my Xyron using the same wedding justification, and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

What purchases have you used the wedding to justify?

hahaa awesome post! My bed has looked like that too at times.

I used the wedding to justify the purchase of a Gocco that I have used exactly 1 time. AND a pair of “wedding shoes” that do not match my dress but I wear ALL THE TIME so I think they were a great purchase. Plus I wore them for my bachelorette party.

My theory is - if you USE it for the wedding or not, it’s totally justified!

You will not regret the steamer. I received one for my bridal shower and we used it for EVERYTHING! We steamed my dress, all the girls’ dresses, my mom’s dress, and now I use it around the house on the curtains, rugs, bedcovers, you name it!

We got a steamer as a wedding present, and it gets used daily. We love it! You won’t regret the purchase, even if it is unjustified :P

I so badly want a steamer. That is defintely going onto the wedding registry!

Purchases that I’ve blamed the wedding on:
~ Updating a lot of my make-up
~Spray Tan Sessions (to try it out before the big day)
~ Updating my lingere :)

Hey, that’s what my bed looked like last week prior to our e-shoot. I thought I had the outfits all figured out and then tried them on. Oh, no no no!

@jordynrose: @Mrs. Pudding: I’ve had the steamer for 3 days and I’ve used it everyday, so far I’m liking this purchase!

Oooh does it work well?? I decided against a steamer because I only knew of the bulky ones with the ‘tank’ and hose.

Oooh, my mom has a steamer and she adores it! She’s the type to iron her jeans, though, so she gets a ton of use out of it :).
