It’s a bit laughable to consider anything about our civil ceremony “formal” since it was such a laid back event, but I have no other words for the photos that are taken directly after the ceremony!

So here are pictures of us with my family and our friends (my in-laws are omitted for my own sanity):

I never wear mismatched metal colors, but you’ll notice that I have a yellow gold watch on here! This watch was given to me by Momma and Dad Socks for my high school graduation and I rarely find an occasion to wear it, so I decided to go for it on my civil ceremony day!

Mr. Socks is wearing an Omega watch that Dad Socks had from waaay back when he worked in a jewelry store…its owner left it and never came back for it, so it’s now Dad Socks’! We don’t know how old it is, but it’s definitely vintage-y cool!

I’m so proud of my little boutonniere that I made for Mr. Socks—it looks perfect with his suit! And of course, I’m still SO proud of Mr. Socks for picking out my calla lily bouquet!

Momma Socks and Dad Socks looked wonderful for our civil ceremony as well:

And finally, when we were ready to go back to Momma and Dad Socks’ place for our shower, we went back to Dad Socks’ car to find a lovely sign and cans tied to the trunk!

I might have tipped off BM Jess that I had ALWAYS wanted a cute getaway car that said “Just Married!” I have to admit…she and the rest of our friends really pulled through for us and it looked awesome!

Unfortunately, we lost half of the cans during the 5 mile ride and the sign flew off in the middle of the road, which Dad Socks had to stop the car and run after (Thanks, Dad!).

We got a TON of looks from all of the people in the town of Cranbury, NJ as we passed by—Mr. Socks and I waved like celebrities at them despite their confused looks!
