Gooooooo Eucalyptus

November 5th, 2010 @ 4:20 pm by Mrs. Giraffe

I love blogging, but I have the hardest time coming up with names for my posts, so you’re just going to have to deal with this one having a lame title.

As you guys know, I was in a crazy frenzy trying to find photos to bring to my florist. The meeting went great, and Sandy the florist knew everything I wanted…but more on that later!

I have to dedicate this whole post to one thing.

Right now, I just have to tell you all about seeded eucalyptus! When I was at the floral market with Sandy, we spent quite a lot of time looking at different flowers and green stuff to put in my bouquet. I also saw the coolest looking greenery that would fit in perfectly with the “wilder” look I want in my bouquet.

Like this look:

And the seeded eucalyptus? Well, it looks a little something like this:

See! You love the look, don’t you? I know I do. It’s such a cool textural look, and I can just picture it in a bouquet, or maybe tucked into the side of Mr. G’s bout. Maybe something like this?

According to Sandy, it’s available year round, too! Whoo! I didn’t bother asking if there’s a difference between “regular” eucalyptus and seeded eucalyptus. Anybody know?

Even Martha likes eucalyptus!

Anybody else use eucalyptus in your bouquet? Want to share photos? ;-)

OMG The photo I sent to our coordinator for my bouquet had the seeded eucalyptus in it. I had no idea what it was until I read your post. :D

*raises hands, jumps in the air* I am! I’m using it! No pics yet, but give me two weeks. I also love the wild look of it, yet so elegant.

Totally on the same wavelenghth. I came across this bouquet from Whimsy Floral Design, a florist in Utah this week and am completely smitten… See link below.

The seeded eucalptus is just an accent, but I love the texture!

I was not a fan of this stuff but my mom went ahead and ordered it for our greenery. It was a good call because it looked great in everything. And it’s pretty cheap too! Go for it!

If it had gone with our color scheme, we would have definitely used it. I love the smell of eucalyptus!

@GreenMTBride: Ohhh man is that pretty! I love the look of it! It also has blue thistle in it, which I also fell for at the flower market! Love it, love it, love it!
@jordynrose: I didn’t even think to smell it. Glad it’s not too bad ;-)!
@Mrs. Cheeseburger: Our accent color is sage so that’s good news to me!
@mrspaetz: Hahaha - I thought of that too!
@Mrs. French Bulldog: That’s good news :-)
@Miss Meerkat: You can’t say I never taught you nothing!

I used it in my bouquet too! The great thing is the seeded doesn’t smell. I am allergic to everything that smells!!! I loved the texture and look it created. If you want pics, happy to send your way.
