Mrs. Panther, Atlanta GA/Westport CT Age and Occupation: 24, Web Writer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Music Recording Engineer Engagement Date: March 13, 2010 Wedding Date: July 2011 Venue: The Inn at Longshore About Me: I'm a total goofball who goes through life at a breakneck pace, trying not to knock anything over. I tend to fall in love with everything I encounter, but more than anything, I love my two little kitties, Bela and Josie, and my big kitty, Mr. Panther! As a wannabe crafter, I'm still waiting for my artistic talents to emerge. (Any day now, really.) In the meantime, I spend my days eating anything put in front of me, buying every pair of shoes I see and absorbing wedding inspiration from every inch of my surroundings. Mr. Panther and I are hardcore New Englanders planning Connecticut nuptials from our new home in the Dirty South, and can't wait to mix our newfound love of classic Southern charm with some modern city touches.

Too-Too Cute

November 5th, 2010 @ 11:07 am by Mrs. Panther

Mr. Panther and I still aren’t sure if we’ll have flower girls. And if we do, they probably will be too old to wear something like this, but MAN. If I could give birth to a three-year-old girl just so someone could wear this in my wedding, I would do it. Is that weird?

What’s the age limit on this kind of thing, I wonder?

If it didn’t just cover my boobs I would totally wear it! But I think it would like way cuter on a 3 year old!

I know some 7-8 year olds who’d think thats pretty awesome.

I want these:

but our flowers girls will be 8-9 so I don’t know if they’ll think they’re uncool. Also apparently she only makes them up to 2T.

it’s adorable… but I have a 15 month old and she would not last 3 minutes in that… please please remember that tulle is VERY Scratchy… and although it’s ADORABLE it could be very Uncomfortable for tiny little person!

I love love love these - HOWEVER, my 6yo niece wouldn’t wear one either, even with a silk slip, due to the scratchiness factor.

This is pretty darn cute. I would say the age limit would be 6-7.

I agree that 6-7 would be the max. Also, if you steam net or tulle it softens and becomes less scratchy.

My FI’s neice is 7 and she’ll be wearing it as a skirt. I think it looks a little more grownup if it’s a skirt and she’ll be wearing a leotard top. It took some doing but I actually did find 7 year olds in images wearing the tulle skirt.

Nooooo, that’s not weird at all ;-). I think it’s a great idea!

… but what happens to the 3 yr old after the wedding? Exactly! That’s why hiring @Mrs. Hermit Crab would be a good idea!

This is awesome! Maybe you could borrow a cute/random/well-behaved 3 year old from someone just for a couple hours and photo ops?? :)

Good evening ladies,

I too adore these. I specialize in couture ballroom skirts, tutus, headpieces, bolero’s and tops. These are ideal for weddings and special occasions. Please don’t let the cuteness fool you. I am also a mother of 9 and 15 year old daughters. The tulle that I use is extremely soft, not to be confused with netting. I make couture skirts, tutus and dresses similar to these but a bit more elaborate. Mine are embellished with Swarovski crystals, satin rosebuds, pearls and or gross grain ribbon. If interested please email me at
Jellybeansandlipgloss@yahoo.com

I would be happy to send pictures. I do not advertise on Etsy as many design ideas are compromised and or copied after being displayed. I sell these for princesses of all ages as I am also a personal stylist.

Thank you and happy weddings, lol!

@asunw: OMG I love that!!! Damnit, T-only sizes!
@Hottiebun, @Miss Starlight: That’s a very good point! I do remember my dance costumes being horribly itchy. :)
@Mrs. Pug: HA. That would be hilarious. WEAR THIS, LITTLE GIRL!
@walkera83: It’s from Etsy! http://www.etsy.com/shop/tiarastutus
@Mrs. Hermit Crab: YES, PLEASE!
@Talishazwi: Ooh, that’s a great idea!
@Miss Giraffe: You are so right. I’d have to find something to do with the child, and I mean, I’ll be so busy writing thank you cards. Good call, Giraffe!

i had a whole slew of flower girls wearing tutus! the oldest was 9 and a half and really not very girlie, but still loved wearing it! when it comes to tutus, i don’t think there IS an age limit!
