About Mrs. Plaid

I’m Such a Follower

November 9th, 2010 @ 12:14 pm by Mrs. Plaid

I chopped my hair all off. I followed bees and hive members of the past by participating the Post Wedding Chop.

If you recall, I did consider cutting my hair off before we even got to our wedding day. But wedding day ’do indecisiveness changed my mind at the time. However, as soon as we returned from our honeymoon, I was off to the salon to get a new ’do.

I absolutely love it. You see, I’m a serial hair cutter. Every year I grow my hair long (usually to about the middle of the my back) and then cut it up to my chin. I’ve been doing this ever since middle school. The problem is that usually I hate my haircut (and miss my long hair) for the first week or so afterward. That was not the case this time. I sprung for a slightly more expensive salon and, voila! Cute hair!

I'm Such a Follower : wedding austin hair Before

Have y’all been itching to ditch your locks? Were you able to wait until after the wedding or did you do it beforehand as I originally had planned?

Well, I had planned on waiting until after my wedding to cut my hair, because I wanted it half up half down. I recently decided on a gorgeous updo since my wedding in in Tennessee in June (really hot!!!). So now I think I will be going back to my somewhat shorter hairstyle. Its not all the way to my chin, but right below my shoulders. Its amazing what updos can be done without all of that extra hair!

Wow! I have been growing my hair out for 2 years (one just becuase and the other for our engagement) and also have been a light golden brown for about 4 years. I decided last week (just one month after we wed) to chop off 4 inches and dye it back to my natural dark chocolate brown! Glad to know I am not the only one who feels the need to drastically change my hair!

Oh, I lopped mine off about a month ago… just 7 weeks shy of the big day. I’m just not a “long hair” kind of gal. I just had a hair trial, though, and my savvy stylist was able to work some sort of Paul Mitchell magic and was able to make it appear as though I still had long hair… and I didn’t even need to get extensions or hair pieces.

Your new style is ridiculously cute!

I’m torn on what I want to do. I really like updos with veils that seem to magically appear out of the mess of hair but at the same time I love my short curls. I think I’ll end up with the short curls because I’m not patient enough to grow out my hair.
