Once again, I apologize for the lamest post title ever. It’s way harder to come up with them than you would think!

Anyway, like I said, this post is about somebody else’s wedding band…or a few somebodies.

Who, you ask? Well of course you know her: Katy Perry! And her new husband Russell Brand! (I love him, by the way.)

Despite the fact that this has nothing to do with me, I just had to post this, hive. I secretly love celebrities. I can’t help myself! I first heard about their wedding bands on the radio (from Koz on The Mix during a commute home, for you Chicago natives).

The happy couple got matching bands, and here are the details from www.diamondpriceguide.com:

“Katy Perry and Russell Brand returned from their private wedding in Jaipur, India, on a tiger reserve sporting matching yellow micro-pave diamond rings set in yellow gold bands. The two diamond encrusted eternity rings are estimated to be worth $50,000-$75,000 each. ”

According to the radio though, I heard $75,000.

Wow, that’s insanely expensive. I haven’t followed their wedding that much but was a big fan of Chelsea Clinton’s!

I’m sorry but, I don’t care how many diamonds are “encrusted” on it, no way can a micropave gold band be WORTH 75k. That is absurd! $50 - 75,000 buys you a fairly nice 4-5 carat diamond for goodness sake! Ridiculous that they would choose to spend 10 times the amount that the rings are actually worth.

But, they are nice looking bands and I do love that they match! I always think it’s cool when couples have matching rings. I’d like to be able to do that!

wooooww….my solitare marquis was estimated at 850..and I thought that seemed a bit much. It’s a 3/5 carat, but I love it, and personally love Katy Perry and Russell Brand even though those bands are ridiculous
