Style Inspiration Anywhere

November 11th, 2010 @ 12:05 pm by Mrs. Prairie Dog

…including a pile of my laundry. Yes. I know. I’m elegant. Based on the decor in my house and our May date, I had thought about general spring colors, but no real design idea had materialized. And then, I stepped out of the shower and lightning struck.

(Please hold while I upload a picture of my discarded clothing onto the Internet.)

My slovenly lifestyle yielded this idea:

Girlie floral print juxtaposed with clean stripes. And then, the more I looked, the more I realized flowers and stripes were all over my house.

Wow, pictures of my laundry pile AND my sloppily made bed. You’re welcome, World!

Some stripes with floral’s subdued cousin, paisley.

So this idea started to warp and include my original spring-colors plan.

Ahhhhh, I’m doing stripes and florals, too! It’s my favorite pattern combo ever.

Got married in October and I used the bride bouquet you posted as inspiration. My bouquet turned out amazingly beautiful with white hydranga, dahlias, antique garden roses, and lined with lemon leaves - all wrapped up with black and white ribbon.

Love! I can’t recall if I had any random inspiration…though everytime I found an item at the thrift store I would think of how I could transition it into the wedding.
