About Mrs. Cherry Blossom

Hello WB readers! It’s been a couple of years since my last entry and I never finished my recaps, but there was always one tip I always wanted to share…it’s treating your vendors well. I’ve helped out at a couple weddings after mine where I’ve told my bride friends to make sure to make goodie bags, not only for their wedding party, but also for vendors. I’ve recently coordinated a girlfriend’s wedding and had a sit down with the vendors afterwards…and wouldn’t you know it, it makes a world of a difference.

I made some the night before our wedding because I wanted EVERYONE that helped out for our wedding to know that we appreciated them and their hard work. A little goodie bag goes a long way to make sure that they are taken care of during the day, especially since our wedding was two days long.

I really wanted them to feel like they were hanging out with us during the day and having fun with us, versus it being just work. I made goodie bags for our videographers, photographers, the DJ, friends helping set up, and of course, our wedding party. I also personalized it, so they knew it was especially put together for them.

Here a few photos of our goodies bags. I had a lot of random snacks, hopefully some that gave them an extra kick should they have felt they needed an extra sugar pick me up: trail mix, fruit snacks, crackers, granola bars, m&m’s, fruit bar, gum, Red Bull, and water were just some of the items. I’m pretty sure they all enjoyed them since some of these photos used were from a mini shoot by our photogs with the bags.

Happy Vendors = happy wedding party.

I wonder, if I’d done this, if I’d have my video by now…? ;) This is a great idea, by the way!

I love the idea… I think I am doing to steal this idea when my day comes closer. I def want to do this for my helpers and vendors but I didn’t know what I should do. The treat bags are excellent ideas.

This is such a fantastic idea. I’m just writing thank you notes… this is so much cooler! And it motivates them to do an awesome job with a positive attitude during the event, rather than reading a thank you later.

What a fantastic idea! I will totally have to do this. My only question is, when do you hand them out? When everyone was getting ready? Or at the reception? I dont want to have them feel like they need to carry them around all night.

Such a great idea! My sister made a gift basket for our DOC’s because they went above and beyond the call of duty.

What a great idea! And I love that you included practical stuff as opposed to something they would potentially be inclined to toss aside…

As a vendor (pastry chef) when a bride/groom does give thank you gifts, it means a lot. Also, what works even just as much is a nice email or note to the higher ups (GM, property manager, boss) with mentions of the people that were helpful/great/etc by name.

wow, brilliant! I emailed our vendors that night to thank them, and many of them appreciated that too - they are people too!
