And once I marry the love of my life, we'll come back to the 'mainland' to party it up all over again in my hometown of Salinas, the salad-bowl capital of the world!

Sewn Together: Married!

November 15th, 2010 @ 4:32 pm by Mrs. Sewing

It was a traditional ceremony.

Sewn Together: Married! : wedding honolulu pictures pro pics recap Ceremon ceremon

Though at first I had planned on us writing our own personal vows, Mr. Sew really felt it would be better to stay traditional vows—and sometimes straight and to-the-point can be a good thing.

First, my cousin read our chosen Scripture verses: 1 John 4:7-16.

Sewn Together: Married! : wedding honolulu pictures pro pics recap Reader reader

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Pastor E did a little sermonette on the marriage next.

Some even got a little emotional.

While others read their programs. Haha!

We exchanged our vows.

I, Sewing, take thee, Mr. Sew to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God’s Holy Word; and there to I give thee my pledge.

And swapped our rings.

With this ring I thee wed, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

We prayed.

And lastly, Pastor E declared us husband and wife, and told Mr. Sew he could now salute his bride for real.

We were married.

And since we never discussed an exit strategy, Mr. Sew’s grandma booked it out of there right after we did.
