About Contests

Congratulations to our winner, cartascartas!

We have another great giveaway courtesy of Jim Hunt Illustration! Jim Hunt Illustration creates adorable, one-of-a-kind “Save the Date” cartoon maps for brides and grooms who want to share something special with their guests. He can include any details the couple requests, from cities you’ve visited together to your childhood home to your wedding venue! His illustrations look great in black and white and in color, and today we’re giving away a custom black and white “Save the Date” map, comparable in detail to the black and white “Nicole and David” illustration below, from Jim Hunt Illustration!

I follow and re-tweeted on Twitter!

Jim Hunt Illustration’s work is fabulous. In my custom map, I would include a big sketch of Texas with my hometown and his hometown drawn in, surrounded by all of the other places we’ve traveled to as a couple - Venice, Rome, NYC, West Palm Beach, and Las Vegas!

My ideal map would be of San Francisco. Since I am getting married at Stern Grove Concert Meadow and the reception is in South San Francisco, I would have those 2 in the map. Stern Grove is also near the SF zoo, Ocean Beach, and Golden Gate park and bridge so those would be great landmarks. All of my hotel blocks are in Union Square so I would want to add those in as well.

Los Angeles is so special to us. It’s our hometown. It’s where we meet. Where we feel in love. Where he proposed. I’d put landmarks of all our “spots,” including firefly in the valley where we had our first date; trader vics where we first said our “I love you’s;” and the rooftop of the thomson hotel where he proposed. *swoon*. What an amazing STD.

So cute! We’re getting married on our college campus, so I’d include all the fun places that we hit up 10 years ago… like the bowling alley, Real Chili, and the dorms we each lived in.

I would have the CN Tower! I live in Toronto, and it’s one of the most iconic structures in Canada!

My ideal map would be of São Paulo-Brazil. Since I am getting married at the Sao Paulo city in a very famous church called Nossa Senhora do Brasil, I would have those 2 places in the map.
would be a international MAP specially to a brazilian bride! =)

I would probably see if I could use mine as a ceremony site-to-reception site map. I would include the church, the hall, the hotel, and different pubs or “places of interest” between sites that people could go to between the ceremony & start of the reception (got the Catholic gap goin’ on).

Love this! I would include when/where we met. I moved to China for a year, he moved to Philadelphia for Grad school. He visited me in CHina 2 times, I moved back to Oklahoma, and then I will move to Philadelphia.

wayyy before i got engaged, i’d already saved images of wedding maps!! unfortunately, it isn’t in our budget. unless i win this contest…! ;) i’d love a map that tells our story, and includes details of our wedding location (old san juan)–the blue cobblestone streets, el morro, the plazas, the convent-turned-hotel where our reception will take place… crossing one’s finger’s and dreaming is still free, right? :)

We are getting married in St. Louis, so I would include the Arch (where we got engaged) Bush Stadium (where we spent the night of our engagement with our friends/family), our church and our venue, which are all in the downtown St. Louis area. We could have some wording going down the Mississippi river like in some of the examples above. I’m sure it would look incredible and would show our guests the area (a significant amount are not from the St. Louis area). What a great giveaway and such a talented artist!

I would love to show the town where we are getting married with the location of the church and reception and all of the other landmarks in the area.

In addition to our ceremony site (a downtown public park), I’d have to include Keeneland Racetrack, Memorial Hall on UK campus, the downtown bar ‘Rosebud’ where we met as well as the illustrations to situate the celebrations in the context of the horse farms and rolling hills that give the Bluegrass region it’s character.

We’re getting married in Bloomington, IL-a smallish town right smackdab in the middle of the Midwest. Most of our guests are from Chicago so I’d like to use the map to get them excited about the weekend and show them there is more to Bloomington than just corn and soybean fields!

We met in Poughkeepsie, NY, fell in love here and currently live here. It’s only fitting that we get married in Poughkeepsie too! It’s a fabulous area in the Hudson Valley of New York. We would use this for Save the Dates, since so many of our guests would be from out of town. What a wonderful way to showcase our city!

Oh my goodness! I follow on twitter and already re-tweeted.

His illustrations are amazing. I’d love to see what he did with a lesser known town (Fresno, CA). I never see anything like this done for Fresno. I’d love to include Fresno State… where we went to college, Yosemite National Park, and the lots of farmland in central California! And of course, our wedding location, hotel for out-of-town guests, my parents’ house where the day after brunch will be held :)

These are AWESOME!! We’re getting married in Cincinnati, so I’d include the downtown skyline, our wedding location and the hotel, as well as some of the big milestones in fiance and my relationship - like the location of our first date, a few parks, etc.
