The Final Round-Up

November 24th, 2010 @ 7:20 pm by Mrs. Knitting

As you might recall, my plan was to let my MOH, BMs, and grown-up FGs pick whatever dresses they wanted with the guidelines that it be pink, grey, or burgundy. For me, it was really important to let them wear dresses that they genuinely like and at price points that they are comfortable with. They now all offically have their dresses, and I couldn’t be happier with them.

My MOH’s dress:

Gorgeous right? I love asymmetrical dresses and think this one has such a unique cut. If it was floor length and white, I think it would make a gorgeous wedding dress.

My FGs:

My little sis on the right is wearing an adorable dress she bought when we were on this adventure. My FG on the left is wearing one of my dresses. In case you’re curious about what they’re doing in this picture, check out this post.

BM Rachel (the one on the left):

She already had a grey dress in her closet that she wore as a guest to another wedding, so she chose to wear it.

BM Mel’s dress:

I know it looks blue in the picture, but I’m told it definitely is grey.

I don’t know how well these are all going to look together, but I’m really happy with this because I love that each dress is completely reflective of each of my lovely ladies. They will be wearing dresses they love and hopefully ones that they’ll be able to wear again. I also think it’s kind of fun because my two BMs chose grey dresses, but my FGs and MOH (the family members) chose shades of pink, so there’s some element of cohesion.

Now they just all have to figure out how to stay warm during our outdoor photography…

If I had BMs, I’d totally let them dress themselves too. Those are great dresses!

Hmmmm….while many of the dresses are pretty (love the MOH dress)…I don’t think they all “go” together. I think it worked in the original pic bc the fabric was all the same and a solid color. I think it is fantastic you want your maids happy (I only had one attendant - MOH - when I got married and she wore whatever she wanted) I just don’t think all the dresses blend together, esp the gray one with black on it. I think at least that one throws the whole look off.

yeah…looking at all the dresses in detail now and they just don’t go well together. i don’t mean to sound rude but as a guest, if I were to see all your BM and adult flower girl dresses (never heard of adult flower girls but sounds like fun) I would think they just don’t match or blend well, and the real BM dresses didn’t come in or something happened to them. sorry…just my honest opinion. still think it’s super considerate of you to think of them but overall, just don’t think they all match well (in their mismatched way) if that’s the look you were going for.

That first dress (for the MOH) that you said would make a great wedding dress (if it was long and white) - it actually reminds me a bit of Mrs. Socks’ dress at her civil ceremony (and we know that was a gorgeous dress). So I agree!

wow, love the dresses, and I thought that was a great idea, letting them chose what they’d like to wear!
