The Bees Are Thankful For…

November 25th, 2010 @ 12:30 pm by Beehive

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Kitten I am thankful to have Mr. Kitten home from Iraq!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features 1046888761 Ohypy L 1046888761_oHYPY-L

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Frenchfries I feel like I have so much to be thankful for this year! I am thankful for my new husband (!!!), for being able to have the wedding of our dreams just 5 short months ago, and for settling into married life with my very best friend. I am thankful for our supportive, loving, and all-around awesome families and friends. I’m thankful for our jobs, for our home, and for our fur babies (all three of them!). And I’m thankful that Mr. FF & I are both attending Thanksgiving with my family this year—it’s a first for us! Happy Thanksgiving, Hive!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Spaniel This year, I’m thankful that I got to marry my favorite person! It’s even better than I thought it would be. I’m also thankful for our families and friends who have supported us through so many changes this year, that law school is behind me (phew!), and that I’m working. “Life” has finally begun. ;)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Trailmix I like to think that it goes without saying that I’m thankful for the obvious things: my husband, our dog, our families, our well-being and our livelihoods. So just for fun, I’ll give you all a short list of the more, um, random things I’m thankful for: Coke Zero (tastes like real coke!), NBC’s Thursday night line-up (HELLO, Office, 30 Rock, etc.), my Hunter rain boots, Sauvignon Blanc, the fact that I live exactly one avenue and one block away from Loehmann’s, cinnamon raisin bagels toasted with cream cheese, my Jimmy Choo shoes and finally, obviously, the greatest time-waster/life-saver of all, WEDDINGBEE!

P.S. I just realized that almost all of those silly little things I’m thankful for involve either food/drink or footwear. I guess we all know where my heart lies…

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Giraffe Oh man, there is so much to be thankful for! I’m so happy that I’m no longer unemployed and am able to save money for our wedding, and I’m thankful that Mr. G will graduate in just a month! I am so thankful for my amazing family and friends. And, as funny as it is, I’m thankful that I get to spend my last Thanksgiving as a “Miss” with my family, even though I can’t wait ’til I next year when I’ll spend it with Mr. G!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Zebra I am hard pressed to find something I am *not* thankful for. This year I will spend my holiday reflecting on my luck in friends, family, future family, and Zeb. I am thankful for the generosity and love pouring into us from all directions. I’m also thankful for the servicepeople fighting for our freedom, our lovely home, my beautiful couch, being able to marry Zeb, our jobs, my happiness, and of course, the Hive. Have a beautiful Thanksgiving everyone!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Sloth I’m thankful for Mr. S, our dog (who we love like a son) and all of our friends and family.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features N556481014 1491963 6021 n556481014_1491963_6021

I’m thankful to be part of this amazing community here at Weddingbee. I’m thankful that my fashion website, which has been my main creative outlet for several years, is still successful. And I’m thankful for pumpkin pie, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy and baked corn casserole. Drool.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Frenchbulldog There isn’t much I’m not thankful for this year. I’m thankful for my wonderful husband, who makes me smile every day. :) I’m thankful for great friends, a good job where I get to see my dad daily, my family, and my health. I’m thankful Weddingbee and all the wonderful women I’ve met here. You ladies inspire me to be the best me I can be!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Pencils I am thankful for a wonderful husband and family that embraces my quirks and loves me through everything, and for the health of my family and myself this year. I’m thankful to have a job that, despite requiring longer hours, allows me to spend my energy on a mission that I truly believe in and want to spend the rest of my life working towards. I’m also thankful for wonderful evening programming on my local NPR station that keep my brain stimulated enough so that I stay awake on my long commute home, and for my friends that talk to me in the evening so that I don’t crash or hit a deer.

I’m also constantly thankful for things like anesthesia, chocolate, and blogs, without which I would have to endure pain, bored taste buds, and Mr. Pencils’ sci fi television shows.

Happy Thanksgiving, Hive! May your holiday season be full of love, laughter and warmth!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Sushi This past year had been a financial struggle for us. That said, I am thankful that we were able to keep our heads above water, keep up with our bills AND even pay a couple of them off.

I am thankful for my loving hubbers and his energetic son. I am thankful that we are all in the best of health! I am thankful that my husband has such a great, understanding ex.; my stepson’s mother and I have gotten closer this year and I am very much thankful for that!

I am thankful and overwhelmed by the amount of love and support our family and friends have shown us the past few weeks after announcing we were planning to adopt. <3 them!

And I’m thankful for carbs. ;)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Candycorn This year has brought on a lot of change for me. With my divorce came a strength that I didn’t realize I had until now. I am incredibly thankful for my family and friends for standing by my side and supporting me. I’m really thankful that my parents have been so understanding during this difficult time and have welcomed my boyfriend Pete with open arms. More than words can express, I am grateful for my relationship with Pete, who makes every day even more exciting than the last. I’ve never felt a love like this before and I am thanking my lucky stars that I have him in my life. He has given me such hope for what the future holds, I can’t wait to spend many more holiday seasons together. I’m also thankful for Pete’s family, who has included me for many holidays and will be having us over for our first Thanksgiving together this year. I’m also thankful for: our five pets, our new woodland apartment, all of my photography clients who have been nothing but sweet, the bees and all of Weddingbee’s awesome readers, my Google Reader, Netflix on rainy days, anything cheese related and Bravo marathons. I hope everyone at the hive has the best Thanksgiving ever, filled with more mashed potatoes than your belly can handle!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Elephant I am so thankful for my family, my friends, Gypsy and of course Mr. E—without them, I don’t know how I would make it through the day. I’m also thankful for good health, a steady job and the means to keep a roof over my head, food on the table, and money in the wedding fund. I am also so happy and thankful to be able to share the joy of wedding planning with the Hive, without you I’m sure Mr. E and my friends would go a little crazy with all the wedding talk.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Lamb This season, I’m particularly thankful for family—my dear family endured several setbacks this year and my new family endured even more. We continue to pray for good health, but are grateful for everyone still being at the table!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Dumpling This year, I am thankful for the amazing year I’ve had with my beautiful daughter, Mia, and for the good health of my great grandmother in San Francisco. I also lost the last 5 pounds of baby weight, which is DOUBLY AWESOME, even if it’s about to come right back again.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Sewing I’m super thankful to God for the amazing blessings this year—our marriage, steady jobs, healthy families and all the new things we’ve learned and adventures we’ve discovered.

But as exciting as all that was, I’m also thankful that the wedding chaos has ended. Thank you, IKEA, for princess cakes and selling us a comfy couch that Mr. Sew and I can vegetate on while we catch up on a year’s worth of missed gaming.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Earrings I’m so thankful to God making everything come together at the right time so that Mr E could come to New Zealand to be with me, and that soon we will be married and never ever have to do that long-distance thing again. I’m thankful for our loving and supportive families for believing in our relationship and being there for us right from the start. And I’m thankful for finishing my undergraduate degree this year and for all the opportunities I have been given to go further in my studies. Finally, I’m thankful for chocolate, pyjamas, and Mr E’s back rubs for helping me get through the stress of this year. :)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Meerkat I am thankful for five wonderful years with Mr. Meerkat. In just a few days we will be flying to the Riviera Maya and getting married!

I am thankful that Christmas comes after our wedding and I can pig out without having to worry about fitting into my wedding dress.

I am thankful for having not one but two very supportive families. I always felt blessed and loved with my family but now to also have Mr. Meerkat’s amazing family is more than I ever could have dreamed of.

I am thankful that I can stop and appreciate all those things that we normally take for granted on a daily basis; snuggling with Wicket and Bravo (our puppies), a cup of hot tea, our beautiful home, my PJ pants, a hot shower, a fridge full of food, being employed…well you get the idea.

And last but not least, I am thankful for you ladies. I am thankful to you for every comment you made on my blog posts and on the forum (I have read every one of them). Seriously you have made me smile during some of the craziest parts of planning our wedding!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Argyle I am thankful to have even met Mr. A. To be able to celebrate with close friends and family, and visit such a beautiful location for our honeymoon. I’m thankful for Fall weather (hello sweaters!), wonderful friends, being able to do what I love on a daily basis, and for having such a wonderful and support community to reach out to (that would be all of you!).

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Glasses Every day I find a new thing to be thankful for. First and foremost, I am thankful for the loving husband that is Mr. G. I am thankful for the food on my plate, the money in my bank account, the wonderful friends and family around me. I am thankful for the shoes on my feet, the blanket on my bed, and the four walls of my apartment. I am thankful for the hive and the wonderful memories I’ve had here, especially for the ladies who have passed some nice wedding karma my way! Lastly, I am thankful for any and all obstacles in my life.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Lioness Mr. Lion and I have both had such an incredible year of transition, and I’m so grateful that everything has worked out the way that it has! After seven years, we both FINALLY finished school…

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features None2 None

graduated…and we are both happily employed! In an economy where we can’t take that for granted, we are overwhelmed with gratitude that we are able to put our new degrees to use. I’m so thankful to be surrounded by supportive family and friends as we experience all of these wonderful changes in our lives. Finally, I’m thankful for the opportunity to share my wedding planning journey with you, Hive! I love every single one of your comments. Your ideas, pieces of advice, and enthusiasm make me smile every time! Thanks for everything, y’all…I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with so much love and laughter. :)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Lace This year, I’m thankful for being surrounded by wonderful people in my life. They keep me going every day—from my husband, my parents, my family, my coworkers, my friends and my students! I’m most thankful to God for finding ways to keep me humble. I’m also thankful for all the hours that I’ve gained back now that wedding planning is over!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Cheeseburger This past year has been amazing, and I am incredibly thankful for so many things. First and foremost, the love of my life became my husband, and we’ve spent the last 8 months soaking up every moment together as a married couple. It’s been a dream—talk about thankful overload. Our incredible parents and siblings continue to enrich our lives beyond measure, and we are so lucky to have their love and support. Those we love are healthy, happy, and doing big things, and for this I am completely indebted to the big guy upstairs. Burger and I are also wrapping things up on the med school front, and we’ve been blessed with many, many residency interviews, so our match is looking promising. I’m also thankful for all the day to day things that keep me sane: internet procrastination (including Weddingbee of course!), gratuitous amounts of television, my camera, cheese, and beer (OK, maybe that’s more like a once weekly thing). Happy Thanksgiving, Hive! <3

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Hippo I am incredibly thankful for so many things, I don’t even know where to start! Of course, I am thankful for King Hippo, who makes me laugh every single day and always makes me feel loved and supported. I can’t believe that he will be my husband in less than 4 months! I am thankful for my amazing family and friends, who never cease to amaze me with their generosity of spirit and never-ending love. I am thankful for our adorable pup Deacon, who is the best spooner ever!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Deacon Deacon

And I am thankful for 90% of the programming on Bravo, concealer, the Victoria’s Secret Miraculous bra, and Spanx.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Fondue This has been a great (and busy) year! I’m so thankful that I’ve finally found a great guy who is crazy about me. I’m also thankful for my supportive family and friends, my two wonderful cats, a steady job and a budding photography business, Mellow Mushroom pizza, TiVo, and all the other things that help me de-stress! Happy Thanksgiving!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Hermitcrab

This year has definitely had its share of highs and lows but I could not be more thankful for my wonderful Mr. HC, the home we have created in NYC with our loveable kitty, and the amazing wedding that brought all our friends and family together for an unforgettable afternoon; my friends and family are the bee’s knees ;). I am so grateful to be able to go back to grad school with the support of my husband to follow my dreams. I could not leave you out, Weddingbee—I am so thankful to have stumbled on this AMAZING community—I had no idea that it would bring so much more than just wedding planning inspiration. Everyone here continues to surprise and impress me every day! Also, I’m grateful for non-meat options on the Thanksgiving table—Happy Tofurkey Day everyone!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Potatochips This year I’m so incredibly thankful for little joys: pancake Sundays with Mr. PH; “Friends Thanksgiving” celebrated the weekend before TDay; Starbucks holiday cups; a renewed excitement for grad school; blogging; jeggings; bicycles. HTG all!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Cardigan I have so much to be thankful for this year! Aside from the obvious (family, Mr. Cardigan, my health, my home, etc.) I am thankful that we’re only a few weeks away from the wedding and all of this craziness will soon be over. I’m thankful that I’m graduating from college in about a month and won’t have to deal with assignments, university supervisors, and weekly student teaching meetings anymore!

I’m thankful that I have two amazingly wonderful dogs that make me feel like the most loved person in the world every time I walk through the door (seriously, have you ever had a 55 pound puppy come barreling at you with his whole body shaking with excitement just to see you? It’s an awesome feeling—until he knocks you over.)

I’m thankful for fall weather (yay, boots!), wine, chocolate, blogging, the Hive (love y’all!) and the fact that in less than two months I will be on my honeymoon somewhere nice, warm, and relaxing (still don’t know where though!)

It’s been an amazing year and I feel so blessed to have everything I do. My life is pretty awesome, and for that I am extremely thankful. Happy Thanksgiving, Hive!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Beagle There are so many things I am thankful for this year. First and foremost, I am thankful for being able to share one year of marriage with my husband. He is my best friend, and I could not ask for a better partner and companion. I am thankful that he recently changed career paths and is in a job that is far less stressful and that makes him happy. I am thankful that he now has weekends off and that we can enjoy them together. I am thankful that we both have families and friends that support us and love us—we could not ask for a better group of loved ones! I am thankful that we have a roof over our heads, food in our fridge, love in our hearts, and change in our pockets. And of course, I am thankful for our pups, who bring us so much entertainment and joy!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Moonbeam Happy Thanksgiving hive! Y’all, as always, make Weddingbee a great place to come to, so I’m thankful to be a part of it. But I’m also thankful that we’re getting comfortable in Los Angeles, we’re both employed (happy dance), we love our new apartment, we’re making friends and doing things. In short, we’re finding our niche in this crazy huge place, which is a welcome change from last year.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Flamingo This year has been a great one, I have to say it’s been the BEST one yet. A lot has happened this year. Apart from being thankful of the obvious: my husband (even when I want to rip his head off), my sisters, my parents and my cats…the most important thing would have to be this lil’ guy. The new love of my life:

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features 4895564876 46b47a065a B 4895564876_46b47a065a_b

Baby flamingo was born July 13th and since then it’s all been but wonderful. I am thankful for having a healthy and amazing baby, as well as the unconditional support I have from the woman around me. This year with the pregnancy and then baby has been nothing short of amazing.

Of course I can’t forget all the “friends” I have made here on Weddingbee. These relationships are still going strong and I love that. I’m thankful for loving what I do each and every day: designing. I’m thankful for my house, for still having creative ideas, fonts, television, Starbucks chai lattes, my Mac Book Pro, my iPhone, the internet, blogging, and of course Twitter. It’s all crack to me and I can’t live without it.

Happy “American” Thanksgiving. :)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Snow I know this is going to sound super sappy, but I don’t know that I could have gotten through the past six months without Weddingbee. The love and support of this community has been one amazing experience, and I’m so thankful to be a part of it all.

I’m also thankful for Starbucks venti coffees, my research (even though it vexes me at times), my amazing college students who remind me why I decided to do this whole PhD thing, chemo drugs, doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and all the other amazing folks working in healthcare.

Above all, I am thankful for our dear dear friends. It goes without saying that this year has been intense. From the highest high of getting married to some very low lows with Mr. Snow’s treatment. Through it all, I realize how thankful I am for friends. Of course, our families are wonderful, but this year, our friends have run errands, bought beers, offered words of encouragement, rented movies, dropped off food, offered shoulders upon which to cry, and found ways to make us laugh.

Our friends are amazing people, and I’m so thankful for all of them.

(And I’m also really thankful these friends all agreed to go out for Thanksgiving, so we don’t have to cook!)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Barrettes Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for my husband and our fur baby and the modern technology that makes living in Guam feel a little bit closer to home than it really is.

This year I feel most thankful for my parents. I have always been grateful for their support, patience, and understanding of my crazy dancer lifestyle, but I have gained a whole new respect for them during this past year of wedding planning.

Their ability to “make it work” never ceased to amaze me. They were only interested in finding solutions to problems, and positivity in the face of adversity. Perhaps I’ve only recently become mature enough to recognize their selflessness, but now that I see it, I’ve never felt so blessed!

Mucho thanks to my bests, the bees, and bloggers everywhere—also to V. Sattui for producing Gamay Rouge and Amador Zinfandel! You make the good life even sweeter!

(P.S.  Thank you to the pilgrims and indians for giving us this yummy tradition!)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Avocado This year I am most thankful for this guy, the second love of my life.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features B6364d5 b6364d5

I am grateful that my forever first love, Mr. Avocado is like good cheese (mmmm cheese) and gets better with age. I’m thankful for our Chicago apartment that is flooded with light each day. I love that Mr. Avo has a job lined up after he graduates. I’m grateful for the many talents God has given me and that I’ve been so successful in my personal endeavors. I’m extra thankful that my family who puts up with all of my blogging (I am frequently the subject of gossip of my tiny hometown). This year we were able to visit Poland so Babycado could meet his grandparents. How amazing is that? Even better, we get to go back next year! I live such a blessed life.

(And it must be mentioned that I couldn’t live without my iPhone, the internet, Hulu, my dSLR, aged cheddar, and Kiehl’s lip balm in a pot. SO thankful for those.)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Dolphin This year has been such a big year in the Dolphin household. I’m thankful for my shiny new husband who’s incredibly sweet, thoughtful, makes me laugh like no one else does, can turn my sad days into happy days, and makes some delicious dinners. I would starve without him! I’m also sooo thankful for having such an amazing family. My parents and Mr. Dolphin’s family have been beyond supportive in everything I do. My family and Mr. Dolphin are my biggest fans, and I’m ever so grateful.

I’m thankful to finally GRADUATE! It has been 6 long, hard years. I’m happy to have that little paper in my hand and a job when so many of my colleagues are jobless. Every day I thank God for helping me land a job (in architecture, hooray!) after graduation.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Mrknightandmissgatoratg mrknightandmissgatoratg

Mrs Dolphin and Mr Dolphin

I’m thankful to be a GATOR. He’s thankful to be a KNIGHT (and we all know UCF has a lot to be thankful for this year…hello awesome football team).

I’m thankful Mr. Dolphin and I were able to have the wedding of our dreams (through 2 years of hard saving, creative spending and generous family). I’m thankful we were able to honeymoon in such a beautiful location: Maui. It was certainly the trip of a lifetime and I will never forget the time we shared there or how tasty those Mai Tais were.

Life is so good, what can I say? I’m a happy gal, for sure. :)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Jellyfish This year has been filled with things to be thankful for—I feel so blessed.

I’m thankful for graduating law school and having a job lined up, something that’s increasingly rare in this tough economy.

I’m thankful for having an amazing, supportive family that never stops showing me how much they care. I’m thankful that my brother and I have gotten closer and that he’s a bigger part of my life. I’m thankful for wonderful in-laws who make me feel like one of their own, and who don’t hesitate to tell me how much I mean to them. I’m thankful for Stinson, our pup, who never lets me feel lonely and is a constant source of comic relief.

I’m so thankful for Mr. Jellyfish. I’m thankful that out of all the people in the world, I get to have him as my best friend and my biggest supporter. I’m thankful for his service to our country, and I’m really thankful he gets to be home for Thanksgiving, Christmas AND New Year’s this year!

I’m thankful that I can officially call Mr. Jellyfish my husband, and for the amazing wedding we were able to have thanks to my parents and in-laws. I’m thankful for all the family and friends that were there to celebrate with us, and for everyone who helped make it happen.

Last but not least, I’m thankful for my friends. The friends I’ve had for years, the friends I’ve recently made, and my Weddingbee friends, who are so wonderful and supportive. Thank you for helping make this the best year of my life yet!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Hotwings This has been an amazing year for the Hot Wings. I’m especially thankful that I had the opportunity to marry my beloved Mr Hot Wings with an entire community of lifelong friends and family to celebrate with us. It was a family reunion for the ages. I am thankful that my family has survived the economic downfall and come out with a future to look forward to. I haven’t discussed it much, but I’m incredibly thankful that my parents have come to terms with the reality of the economy and that my dad no longer blames himself for their situation. I’m incredibly thankful that Mr. Hot Wings and I completed our PhDs together, got jobs in the same place, and are continuing to live together. It’s an academic’s dream come true. And I’m thankful to have been chosen to be a bee. I adore this community and you all have made this year more entertaining and supportive than I could have ever imagined. Thanks for letting me be here and for being here for me.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Frog You’d think it would be easy to say what you are thankful for…but when you are so lucky to be happy, healthy and living a wonderful life, it’s really hard to single out each thing that makes your life so fulfilling. I’m so very thankful for Frogger and the incredible husband he is. I’m thankful for the love filled wedding we had this summer and so very thankful that my Grammie was able to be there to not only enjoy the festivities but walk me down the aisle with my Mom. I’m extremely thankful for the health and happiness of all of my loved ones. I’m very grateful for all of you—this community is so supportive and incredibly creative, saying I’ve enjoyed being a part of it would be a gross understatement. And in this economy, I’m very grateful for a steady paycheck with a job I enjoy.

And just for good measure, I’m thankful for bacon (yes, you read that right), our adorable and mischievous kitties, apple juice, cheese and of course, good wine. Is it strange that the majority of those are food/drink related?

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Ramen I’m overwhelmingly thankful for how God has totally provided for Mr. Ramen and me this year…a job for the Mr. after a whole year of being unemployed, and surviving this wretched quarter in opto school. I finally have time to start working on my recaps! We’re also thankful for a new, bigger apartment that is closer to school and with cheaper rent, a new puppy to look forward to bringing home in a couple months, healthy friends and family, and an abundance of opportunities to grow in our faith. I’m so thankful for a wonderful marriage of almost one year with an AMAZING husband who is so patient, encouraging and loving.

And on a more superficial note, I’m thankful for pasta, library books, cold medication and cough drops that work, student Amazon prime, the sale rack at Anthropologie, my HTC Hero, and last but certainly not least, my sexy red KitchenAid mixer.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Joey I am thankful to spend another great year with Mr. Joey and this year in our new house. We are so thankful that all our friends and family are healthy and happy, and that our BIL came home safe from his 2nd (and hopefully final) tour in Afghanistan. We’re thankful that sister Joey and BIL Joey finally get to spend the holidays together after 4 years of marriage. Lastly, we’re thankful for the latest addition to the family, our new dog Izzy.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Maryjane I am thankful—of course—for my husband, Mr. Mary Jane. I’m thankful that we have similar goals in life, and I’m additionally thankful that we’re respectful of each others desires and needs and always ready to help each other achieve them. We’re fortunate to be employed, to have the opportunity to attend grad school, and to own a lovely, comfortable home. So we’re thankful for those things and of course, thankful for our families and friends, without whom a lot of our achievements wouldn’t be possible. I’m also thankful for our [mostly] well-behaved cat: he makes our house a home. And I’m definitely thankful I’ll be done with school next year—I am tired of it!!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Plaid Wow, it’s Thanksgiving time already? I’m thankful for a lot this year. I’m thankful to have a new husband that absolutely adores me, makes me laugh multiple times a day (as stipulated in our contract…j/k) and is just as excited to start making a family as I am. I’m thankful for our two wonderful pups, Olive and River, even if they both like to annoy me sometimes. Their cuteness outweighs all of that. I’m thankful to have a job. It may not be my dream job, but at the moment, it’s a job, which not everyone has. I’m really thankful to have gained so many new family members in marrying Mr. P. That means I’ll have people to celebrate the holidays with since my family all lives so far away. And I’m really thankful for our awesome friends who are willing to do anything necessary to help when we ask. And I’m thankful for Weddingbee, not only for the advice I’ve received from the Hive, but for helping me discover that I love blogging. It’s a truly great, creative outlet for me.

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Balletflat I’m thankful for so much!

I’m thankful to have a job in a constantly expanding field. I’m very thankful for my husband. He’s so supportive and always there for me when I ultimately need him. I’m thankful that we took a plunge and got a dog who we both love very much! I’m thankful that my in laws are very kind people, and of course, my own family is amazing, despite being over an hour away! I feel like I can drop in anytime and still feel like a spunky, crazy kid when I walk in those doors! I’m also thankful for discovering Weddingbee…you guys are seriously amazing women, who I’m honored to be friends with!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Locket I’m thankful for many things this year…the number one on my list is how thankful I am that our wedding was able to happen. If you’ve read past posts, it’s clear that this past year was not an easy one and there were many times when we thought we would have to cancel the wedding because of it. Fortunately, we were provided with great understanding and compassion and found a way to make it all work.

I am also thankful to have had so much help from family and friends when it came to getting all the last minute wedding-stuff finished. I am very grateful for all these things and even more so, I am grateful to be married to Mr. Locket and to have two happy little furbabies to complete our little family. And, like many bees before me, I am thankful to Weddingbee for providing such a warm, welcoming and supportive community.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Seashell I have so, so much to be thankful for this year—a wonderful wedding barely two  months ago, a loving and witty husband, an exceptional and strong family, fantastic friends, and Weddingbee community that is a regular highlight in my day. I am thankful for my job. A year ago I was miserably unemployed, and I am so glad to be working toward my dream. I am thankful for the Starbucks next door to our home. The friendly smiles and coffee are the perfect start to any day, and I’d be working at said Starbucks if I hadn’t found my job (ha). I’m thankful for technology, specifically my iPhone. It provides hours of entertainment and keeps me connected to those I love. I’m thankful for cute flats, fluffy bedding, and scarves often too.

Most of all, this Thanksgiving makes me overwhelmingly thankful for last Thanksgiving. It was the first and only Thanksgiving I will have been able to spend with Mr. Seashell’s Mom. I got to try her famous recipes, soak in the smells of her kitchen, and know what made Thanksgiving so special for Mr. Seashell. It was my first Thanksgiving away from home, and now I realize it was especially worth it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Handbag I am thankful to be healthy, happy and in love. To be in love with someone who even after 6 years, still loves me and my quirks is an amazing feeling. To finally be planning our wedding after the longest engagement known to man! :) I am so thankful for the beautiful home that we built together with love. To have an amazing family who supports every move I make and are my biggest cheerleaders in life. Having 2 amazing brothers who serve our country, and the times we get to spend together when they come home. I am thankful for the opportunity to go to college and get my degree in something I am passionate about. I am thankful for every morning that I wake up and realize that I am the luckiest girl in the world to have all of this. :)

As we all sit around the table this Thanksgiving, smelling the fantastic food, laughing with family and enjoying some football, may we take in the moments of today as they become the memories of tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving hive!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Cinnamonbun I was thankful for these things a month ago for Canadian Thanksgiving, and am still thankful now.

I’m thankful for Mr. Cinnamon Buns, and all he does for me: makes me laugh, keeps me warm, cuddles me, supports me and my whims, makes me amazing food, and is just an all-around awesome fiance. I’m thankful for both our families and their support and excitement for the wedding. Thankful for all our friends. I’m thankful for our jobs! I know we’re lucky to be able to earn a living doing what we love.

I’m also thankful for being accepted as a bee, the Anthropologie that is going to open here in a month (bye-bye wedding budget!), the gourmet grocery store a few blocks from here, my bicycle, my Kitchen Aid mixer, goat cheese, pasta, and pie.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Pincushion I’m thankful for my smarty-pants hubby,

Who’d love me whether I was thin or tubby.

Gracias to Netflix, risotto and toasted marshmallows,

and also to all of the good lookin’ fellows.

(I’m looking at you, Joseph Gordon-Levitt)

I’m grateful for family, friends and soft, tender kisses

And right here on the Bee, for all the sweet Madames and Misses.

This Thanksgiving, I hope, you won’t act like Mrs. Pin Cushion

who eats as much as she can possibly smush in.

A big “Happy Thanksgiving” to one and all,

May it be filled with turkey, stuffing and lots of football.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Dorsay I am thankful for so many things, I dont know where to start! Frog is right—it’s tough to spell it all out when you’re thankful for so much!

I’m thankful for my fantastic husband, and the families that we now share together. I’m thankful that we get to stop thinking about immigration for 12 whole months! I’m thankful for the life we’re building in DC, and thankful for the friends we’ve made along the way. I’m also thankful I’m only 3lbs from my wedding weight, which means I’m 3lbs closer to earning a puppy!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Pretzel The Lord has blessed us so much this year, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. I have the most loving husband, who amazes me every day with his huge heart and his quick wit. (Even if he did steal the other “man” in my life.)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features 5166900045 30da3c2d8c 5166900045_30da3c2d8c

I’m thankful that at 12 years old, Pretzel Kitty Cassanova is still acting like a kitten and for mornings when both kitties snuggle in bed with us.

We have our health, a little townhouse that is slowly becoming a “home,” amazing friends and family, and a fun little pack of “internet friends.”I’m so thankful for the special relationship I have with both my parents and the wonderful in-laws that I acquired through marriage (woot!). With a heart full of gratitude we look forward to sitting down with family for Thanksgiving and celebrating all that God has given us. I pray that Mr Pretzel and I will have the chance to give back to God—with interest—the gifts he has given us in the form of charity and service to others.
The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Panther While I frequently find myself thinking about how grateful I am for the existence of things like salt and vinegar chips, pizza with ranch dressing, Tivo, beef ravioli, Gossip Girl and a great pair of boots, I really should take more time to appreciate the important stuff. So here goes: I’m thankful for my very patient Mr. Panther, who dutifully rubs my feet almost every night after dinner without complaining too much, and lets me ramble on and on about things like “eternity stripe” table linens and textured buttercream without ever telling me to shut my face and get a life, and makes me laugh each and every day.

I’m thankful for my hilarious, dysfunctional family back in Connecticut, and that my wonderful mom has finally found a boyfriend (!!!) to keep her company and make her smile again. I’m thankful for my two chubby-lovey kitty cats, who purr so much during snuggle time that they drool all over themselves. I’m thankful to have a job—period—and that I get paid to do three of my favorite things: watch TV, surf the web and write. I have my health and I have my soul mate. Sometimes I think I’m the luckiest girl on the planet.

Happy Thanksgiving, hive!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Star I’m thankful for a wonderful first year of marriage, and the two families that I’m now a part of. I’m thankful for the career progress that both the mister and I have made, and for our happy and healthy children (AKA our two dogs!). I’m so grateful for all of the new online friends I’ve made, but I’m most thankful for the horizon of open opportunities that lies ahead in this next year and that I have such a wonderful partner to share it them with.
The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Sanddollar I’m thankful for brownie dough, box Zinfandel, and salsa, without which I would never have survived such a crazy, hectic year. I could get all sappy and say my family and my husband and all the loves of my life, but nothing beats snuggling with my boxer furbaby Rory and smelling her corn chips aroma. We are champion snugglers.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Img 1070 IMG_1070

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Jaguar As an international Bee, we sadly don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, but it’s still one of my favourite holidays. This year, I’m lucky enough to be travelling through North America and experiencing my very first Thanksgiving—how fitting!

I’m thankful for the opportunity to travel, to see new places and explore new cities. I’m thankful for my amazing family, who I am so excited to be seeing soon after three years away. I’m thankful for my online family, my blog friends & my hive friends, who never fail to make me think, laugh and cry. I’m thankful for my lovely boy, Oscar, who is currently in quarantine down under and being so brave by himself. And I’m thankful for Mr. Jaguar, who makes me feel like the luckiest girl on the planet—there’s nothing I could BE more thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Turtle This year I am so thankful to finally be married to my best friend! We’ve dealt with so many challenges this year, from driving across the country to start a new life on the East Coast, to family crises and illnesses, to homesickness, to stressful jobs. But through it all, God has taught us to slow down and take each day at a time, to take time to be thankful for the little blessings in life. I’m thankful for every single moment spent with family and friends, even Skype sessions; rainy afternoons of baking with my “Martha Stewart blue” mixer; and fresh flowers from my husband waiting for me when I get home from work! Happy Thanksgiving! :)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Frozenyogurt I am thankful for my family because I don’t know what I would do without them. I am also thankful for our little family that includes just me and Mr. Fro Yo. I feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful partner that just “gets” me. I’m also thankful for the little things in my life that make things much better like my doggies, my flat iron, the blind spot indicator system on my car, patterned tights and my hair dresser for covering my greys. Happy Thanksgiving!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Sprinkle It’s so hard to narrow down what you are thankful for, when you are thankful for so much, but I’ll try (in list form!):

I am thankful for:

  • Mr. Sprinkle and our kitties.
  • Tofurkey and Field Roast.
  • That I was able to go back to school this fall, and enjoy it!
  • All of my preschool students.
  • The smell of Christmas trees.
  • All of my family and friends (and bee friends, too!).
  • Farmers’ Markets.

And finally, I am thankful that Mr. Sprinkle and I get to spend Thanksgiving with people we love and who love us!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Oyster What an incredible year it has been. As so many have mentioned, I’m so grateful to have been invited to post here at Weddingbee, and thankful for the friendships and relationships found here. I’m grateful also for my husband of four months, (!) and for the chance to spend my life with someone so wonderful.

I’m so thrilled that this year, we had an incredible wedding and were able to celebrate our marriage with those closest to us. Our wedding day was easily one of the happiest of our lives, and we are so blessed by the love and support shown to us. I’m thankful that my family, including my grandmother, was able to come.

Recently I find myself, more than ever, thankful to have the basics: employment, food, shelter, transportation, a loving and supportive family, and good friends. There are times when I was without one or more of these things, and hopefully I can find it in me to do better at helping others in the coming year.

Like everyone, I’m also thankful for the little things: my husband’s quirky record collection, my cat who was sick but is now doing well; and to continue the cosmetic theme, my new Rosebud Salve (you’ve gotta try this stuff!). Have a great holiday season everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving! :)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Thimble I am thankful for all the new experiences I’ve had this year that have helped me to grow. I am especially thankful that after a rough patch and a maybe-move, Mr. Thimble and I were BOTH able to get our jobs back after quitting and keep our apartment that we have called home for three years. I thank my lucky stars every day for Mr. Thimble, for my amazing friends and community in NYC, My supportive family, our health, and finally, being able to plan and execute the wedding of my dreams last month and share the best day ever with our families and friends.

I am also thankful for wasabi peas, Netflix streaming to my TV as if by magic, butternut squash, pumpkin, and salted caramel things, my new boots that fit my calves, puppies and babies. I don’t have either of those last 2 things, but when I cuddle them they change my life for a moment. Finally, thank you Hive for letting me write and share with you all! It’s been kind of a big deal for me. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Lemon This year is a year of overwhelming blessings that seem to come around every corner. Baby Lemon’s smile and laughter erases a bad day in an instant, and a simple cuddle with her melts my heart in a way I didn’t know was possible! I also love the new connection that Mr. Lemon and I have created.. the shared look of intense love when we both express our love for our daughter with each other.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features 5156380721 4e30f03e92 O 5156380721_4e30f03e92_o

I’m thankful for every precious moment we have had with family and friends this year, and all of the love that has been shared with us. And I’m very thankful that I still get to share and participate in an amazing blogging community, and for all of the wonderful friendships that have blossomed from Weddingbee.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Brooch I’m thankful for all the wonderful experiences I’ve had this last year, namely becoming a bee! Weddingbee has been the most phenomenal support system, at such a critical time in my life! I love the bees and readers, and don’t know where I would be without this community. I’m thrilled to be a part of it. :)

As if that wasn’t enough, I also ran two 10-milers this year, which was a huge accomplishment for me!!! I snagged a fabulous job doing what I love, around people I love everyday. With that came along significant job security and a pay raise. Woo hoo! Oh, and let me not forget my once-in-a-lifetime experience filming for SYTTD! What a whirlwind! The road trip to New York with my girlfriends and mom was so much fun, and something I’ll remember for a long time!

Above all of this, I’ve become closer than ever to my soon-to-be, Mr. B. :) His proposal took the cake as the most significant and special moment in my life. I’m blessed to have such a dedicated and giving partner in life, and someone who supports me no matter what. He is the wind beneath my wings (even though that sounds totally corny), and I wouldn’t be doing any of the fun and exciting things I have without his loving reassurances.

Next year, I know I’ll have even more to be thankful, with the wedding and newlywed life upon us! I look forward to an even more blessed year. :) Happy Thanksgiving all!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Cola This year has been one of the best of my life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I have so much to be thankful for this year, including:

  • The love of my new husband
  • Spending time with friends and family over good food
  • Cuddling with my kitties
  • Steady jobs
  • Living a busy and fulfilling newlywed life, making plans for our future, and enjoying not spending all our free time on wedding projects

Happy Thanksgiving Hive!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Poodle This year has being such an amazing one for the Poodles and we are so thankful that this past fire season was low on fires so I got to keep Mr. Poodle at home a lot more than in the past. I am so thankful I have such an amazing husband. One year ago Curly and I moved from Chile to our new home in California, we started my immigration process, and thankfully I got my Residence card last week  (even though it took almost a year), so I finally get to call the USA the Poodles’ HOME! We struggleed so much with this process so we are VERY thankful it is over (at least for the next 2 years). Also, I am  so thankful to have such an awesome family and family in law that supports us in every adventure we set our minds to. I am also super thankful to be a part of this awesome Weddingbee community—I’ve found so much support here, not just for our wedding but in launching my website. I feel all grown up! :)  This will be my second time celebrating Thanksgiving and I think it is an awesome tradition that we will definitely continue to celebrate no matter where in the world we are. Happy Thanksgiving, hive! XOXO

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Poodles poodles

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Cheetah The Big Stuff: My siblings, friends, family, health, & building a future with Mr. Cheetah!

The Little Things: Weekend trips, cupcakes, food trucks, instant Netflix, fresh fruit, warm comfy socks on a fall day, fake moustaches, Etsy, & brightly colored tights!

And of course I am thankful for the awesome-ness that is Weddingbee!

Have a delicious Thanksgiving!

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Pug I’m thankful for my wrinkle-free face and perfect posture. I’m kidding—I have neither. But even if i did, I would be more thankful for other things, like that Mr. Pug still thinks I’m the bee’s knees (he’d better) even after I lay around in the same grubby clothes day and day watching TV. In fact, I’m convinced it’s why he loves me. I do it so much—what else could it be? I’m also thankful for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, sparkling wine, autumn, Etsy, the comfort and companionship of two devoted pugs, and finding such a great partner in Mr. Pug.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Mssocks I am incredibly grateful for all of the love I have in my life: from Mr. Socks, our puppies Wrigley and Zoe, my parents, my sister and her husband, my extended family, and the friends who surrounded us on our wedding day (in person and in spirit).

I am thankful for the opportunity to be a Bee this year—it has been incredibly rewarding and fun. I’m also thankful for Mr. Socks’ support of my blogging and DIY projects—they have helped me rediscover the fact that I am a creative person, which I seemed to have forgotten since I left college and began sitting behind a desk.

I can’t say that I’m grateful for the hardships that Mr. Socks and I faced this year in regards to his family, but I am thankful for the bond that we have and how it has strengthened a hundred-fold over the past few months. My heart seems to burst with love for Mr. Socks more and more every day and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with him.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Stripes I am so thankful for the overwhelming love and support of our friends and family who joined us to celebrate our wedding and I am beyond thankful and extremely lucky that I get to spend the rest of my life with Wifey Stripes. I’m also very excited to celebrate the holidays with friends, tofurkey, truffled mashed potatoes, and copious amount of red wine. And you! I’m thankful to be part of such an awesome community of brilliant folks, and so grateful for your advice, encouragement, and all-around awesomeness! Happy holidays! :)

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Mouse This year I am thankful for my my family, who put up with my endless babbling about television shows and my inability to return phone calls. For my in-laws, who I am so happy are spending Christmas in Austin with us this year for the first time EVER. I am thankful for the two incredible opportunities I’ve had this year: the opportunity to be a real attorney and the opportunity to work for Weddingbee, which was and is truly my dream job. Finally, I’m thankful for the best spouse a person could wish for and our hope that, sooner rather than later, the two of us will become three.

The Bees Are Thankful For... : wedding features Penguin I am thankful for the things that seem to be eluding a lot of us lately, and I never ever take for granted: having a roof over our heads, being gainfully employed and having nutritious, wholesome food in our tummies.

I am thankful that the bees, hostesses, my bosses, coworkers and the entire hive have allowed me to be here another year, serving this website. The first question on my mind every day as I wake up is, “How can we make Weddingbee live to see another day?” Thank you for your continued readership and faith in this website, each and every one of you.

I am thankful for Mrs. Mouse, who saved me from utterly drowning in a sea of blog posts, and who has become a positive and honest influence over both Weddingbee and me.

Finally, I am most thankful this year for my increasingly patient husband. Mr. Penguin takes an incredible amount of crap from me as I skate through each week utterly frazzled and often unshowered. He believes in me, constantly scolds me for undervaluing myself, kisses me every night when he gets home despite me sometimes “smelling like a homeless person” and almost always honors my requests to “shut PTI off before I throw a shoe at the effing TV.”

Oh, and for stretch pants. SO thankful for those.

xo

Mrs. Kitten,

I am so jealous!

We found out last night that my fiancee will be leaving for another tour in Afghanistan.

I had to shamefully type emails to all of our vendors saying that we will not be getting married next year after all.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans!

Just wanted to shout how to my fellow archi-techie Mrs. Dolphin!
Congrats and welcome to the wonderful world of being an intern architect! Enjoy the “fun” ride. I’m hoping to be licensed in the next 1.5 years. So here’s to licensure soon for both of us!
