When it comes to online wedding shopping…I know we all loooooove Etsy (yours truly included), but eBay and its “Buy It Now” button have been just as helpful on my quest for those little, thoughtful details that us brides-to-be feel make all the difference…

Like stamps!

Postage stamps. Yep, add this one to the pile of details that I’m crushing on and spending way too much time searching for. I think it may date back to my pen-pal-letter-writing days way back in the day—writing letters in purple pen, sprinkling a few glitter stickers on the envelope seal, and mailing it with a few butterfly postage stamps. This was the best kind of mail I ever found in our mailbox. :)

Fast forward to present day. For our wedding invites (which should be finished any minute now!), I’m hoping to decorate our envelopes like this…

OK, maybe not 10 different types of stamps. That might put me over the edge. But I am really a fan of how this little “mosaic” of stamps gives the envelope so much personality!

And thanks to the wonderful world of eBay, I’ve found an awesome stamp-obsessed seller who is selling every possible stamp I could ever want.

Want to see a few?

A heart, some Hawaiian surfers, L-O-V-E, vintage Air Mail, and exotic flowers…all symbolize something about our beach wedding and look fun side by side…

I never thought to look at eBay for stamps! I hate the ugly ones that come out of machines at the post office!

I had my name and address published under a pen pal section in a Big Boy menu when I was a little kid and I had tons of pen pals! I miss those days :)

Love those stamps! There was a great sale recently with Zazzle and we decided to personalize our stamps with a picture of our puppy. I never realized how much I loved stamps until planning the wedding :-).

Very cute stamps. I was boring with ours and just used whatever they had at the post office, but now Im thinking I should have looked harder! Maybe with the thank you cards I can use fun ones :)

I’ve totally looked at ebay and loooove all the options there are. My inner cheapskate can’t seem to rationalize buying stamps for more than their worth though. . . At least for my STDs. I’m thinking I’m going to go big and splurge on our invites because hey, why not!

I love your stamps! I also love how you start each post with a quote. Where do they all come from?

I love stamps too! I know that some people do not look at them, but I know that I always do when I receive invites. I also looked at ebay for stamps, which I thought were really cute (but I couldn’t imagine how many stamps I would need or how much envelope space it would take up!). In the end, we decided to use Zazzle to do custom postage of one of our Epics. Luckily they were having a sale on Thanksgiving, so it only cost an extra 6 cents each!

@Miss Giraffe: YES! oh, I’ll be waiting to see what you pick! For us, the prices weren’t that much more {it also helps that we’re having a small wedding} and it makes the envelopes so festive :) let me know if you need some ebay shops to check out!

@Miss Waffle: I heart your illustrations, waffle! as for the quotes, they come from everywhere and anywhere. there are some great twitter feeds that i draw a lot of them from, as well as a few quote websites that i’ve bookmarked over the years. and, when i’m stuck for one, i’ll just google the quotes of some of my favorites {maya angelou, oscar wilde, sex & the city {haha}, to name a few :) }
