About Mrs. Hot Wings

With this Wing: Wedding Party

December 1st, 2010 @ 9:37 am by Mrs. Hot Wings

We had a large wedding party. This makes for some difficult wedding party shots! I think we did pretty well, though. Again, we used the parasols.

Hanssie, our photog, was super smart and had the men hold the parasols instead of the women. They’re taller; it makes more sense. Men with parasols—love it!

Next, it was time for the entire wedding party to transform into the badass wedding party with the help of our sunglasses. Luckily, I remembered to grab a couple extra pairs of sunglasses before leaving the bridal suite so Mr. HW and I could join the sunglasses crew.

Sadly, I was still one pair short. Our little flower girl didn’t get a pair. Garrett Davis, Hanssie’s assistant photog that day, grabbed his pair of sunglasses and threw them on her. Good thinking, Garrett! She was instantly happy again, despite the sunglasses nearly falling off her face.

I couldn’t actually get my glasses on correctly. I had asked my hairstylist to pull my hair over my ear instead of behind my ears. So I would have had to mess up my hair to get the glasses on. Yeah, not happening. So up close, this is what it looked like.

Then Hanssie had an idea for a close-up shot. She had everyone gather around Mr. Hot Wings and me with the parasols shielding out the sun entirely. She lay on the sand in front of us. I was exactly convinced that this wouldn’t result in anything. But you trust your professionals, right? That’s why you hire them. Problem was that I couldn’t stop laughing. She wanted us to kiss, and Mr. Hot Wings had to tell me to stop laughing. He said all he was getting was teeth. I had to take a deep breath…concentrate…and move in.

Here’s the photo that resulted! Pretty genius for a bright sunny day, right?

And we’re finally through the formals (for now, at least). I haven’t shown you our couple shots, but I’ll wait until a couple more posts to share those.

*All photos by the ever fab Hanssie Trainor unless noted otherwise*

Do you need to catch up with the hotness?

OMG! I just had to mention, I know your asst. photog Garrett Davis very well! He is a good friend of mine. We worked at the same newspaper together for a few years where I was a reporter and he was our paper’s top-notch photographer! Wow! Too cool! He has since moved out to LA and does tons of weddings. He is super talented. I might have to talk him into coming back to town to shoot my wedding :)

Love the shade idea! Perfect for a beach wedding! You all look fabulous!!

Every time I see your pics I feel justified in buying parasols for me and my girls! Those pics are just gorgeous, and the last one- wow. You look like a movie star :)
