With dark clouds taking over the sky, friend and DOC LM herded all of us over to the ceremony site.

See, our processional was a little bit more complicated than just walking down the aisle—remember the song we were using? We had to get each wedding party member around the platform and down the aisle in time for me to reach the mouth of the aisle when the saxophone starts. In an exercise of over-planning, I had researched the average pace for a slow walk (approximately two miles per hour, if you’re interested) and determined the total distance of the aisle. I also had the total minutes of “walkable” song time, and I calculated how much time each pair would need to get down the aisle and, therefore, when they should begin their walk. But because this was the first time the entire wedding party was together, we really didn’t know what to expect.
I don’t think I ever shared with you all the layout of our ceremony space. I want to quickly show it here, so you have a better understanding of the path of our “aisle.”

(done in Powerpoint by yours truly)
So imagine the surprise of us all when we got it on the first try! I reached the top of the aisle, and my dad escorted me the rest of the way. It was right around then that I realized Mr. Husky was going to be very emotional during the wedding—he already had tears in his eyes as I walked down the aisle with my dad, in my ratty old jeans and t-shirt.

We did a quick dry-run of the ceremony, where my gorgeous ribbon bouquet made its debut:

A kiss to seal the deal (I think Best-M is telling us we have to wait until the next day for that)…

…and it was time to eat! Thankfully, there is no photographic evidence of this—because I’m pretty sure we all had the manners of starving wolves as we scarfed down every shred of food in the taco bar. After dinner, it was time to get back to work. Now that we had the ladder, we could finally hang the paper lanterns:

And finish assembling Mr. Husky’s hand-built bar. (And that fridge I spoke of? It’s inside, holding the kegs!):

My self-imposed bedtime drew near, and I knew I needed to be on my way soon. I said goodbye to LM (friend and DOC extraordinaire):

Our awesome neighbors had just arrived with tent pieces in hand, and this is how the barn looked the last time I saw it on Friday night:

I went back to my room and finished my letter to Mr. Husky for our wine box. As I went to bed that night, I wondered if they would be able to get the tents up and how everything would go the next day. And as I drifted off to sleep, I realized I didn’t care—I was getting married!
