Guys Seem To Have It So Easy

December 2nd, 2010 @ 4:02 pm by Mrs. Elephant

It’s a nice feeling knowing that our guys will be wearing more than just ties!

Mr. E rounded up Brother E and me this past Saturday and headed over to Men’s Warehouse to pick out tuxes for the wedding. Since his groomsmen are scattered across Texas and Louisiana, Mr. E decided to go the easiest route for everyone. Our trip to Men’s Warehouse was quick and painless (guys have it so easy!), and we were lucky enough to get Mr. E, my brother, and my dad (who met us at the store) measured and in the system. Three down and four guys to go!

Mr. E selected the black Kenneth Cole tux with two buttons, white shirts, and various vest patterns. We held up the ties to get a visual. Mr. E will rock the white vest with his blue and green striped tie.

While the groomsmen and dads will wear black vests with their respective ties.

The boys also tried on Kenneth Cole jackets to get an idea of how the tuxes will fit.

I can’t wait to see how the guys will look on the wedding day. Thankfully (to ease my nerves) the tuxes will come in early the week of the wedding so they can try everything on together and make any necessary adjustments prior to the big day.

Will your guys be renting tuxes or purchasing suits for your big day?

tuxes, for us anyway seem too fancy, my dress is nice.. but not fancy smancy. My fiance is wearing his dress blues since he is in the Marines, and his groomsmen will wear black pants with a watermelon tie :) they really do have it easy though.

Guys always have it the easiest! When they pick tuxes they don’t even have to buy shoes. Lucky!
I love Mr. E’s tie!

we are leaning toward FI in a navy suit and the other guys in khaki slacks and navy blazers…but of course I want the navy to all match. does anyone else have a problem with asking the guys to buy suits though? I tend to think, whatever, the girls have to buy dresses and nobody has a problem with it, but FI is concerned about asking his guys to purchase suits…which is why we are thinking of compromising by letting them wear pants they already own and just purchasing jackets which I’m hoping we can find pretty inexpensively (i.e. as much as they’d pay for a tux rental).

@Miss Ostrich: LOVE that your guys are wearing sperrys! wish I could convince our guys to do that but if we are asking them to buy suits or blazers, I don’t think FI will let me ask them to buy shoes too =(

Grooms do have it way easy. I almost screamed when we bought Mr. G’s suit in under an hour when it took 4 hours to pick out my dress. I love that tie for Mr. E!

My guys will be buying suits from Jos. A. Banks … they have greats sales around christams (buy one get one type deal) so it works out great. Plue since my colors are purple and green i didnt want to do black tuxes. So instead they boys will either being wearing navey or gray (i think gray will be the winner ;-)
PS: you can also rent tuxes and suites from Jos. A. Banks which is great because they have stuff that Men’s Wearhouse did not and have location all around the us which helps cause We live in Dallas but are getting married in PA!
