About Mrs. Canary

I got a chance to stop by at the second annual Martha Stewart Holiday Craft Sale. I had the best of times last year collecting unique holiday gifts, so I made sure to block it out on my calendar again this year!

The sale takes place at Martha Stewart headquarters in Chelsea, New York. Many of the editors from the staff get to be vendors selling items they make in their spare time. It’s a great way to catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse and also purchase some of these beautiful items for your very own. If you’re not in the market for holiday gifts, it’s a great way to collect items for a wedding (accessories, bridesmaids gifts, stationery). It’s also an excellent way to source unique vendors or see one of your favorite blogger-vendor’s work in person.

Upon entering, you can stock up on some much-needed Martha Stewart craft goodies for the holidays.

Or, stop at a make-and-take station and glitter up a fantastic ornament!

Unfortunately, this vendor didn’t have a card, but I loved the idea of the birch tealight candles and thought they’d make a great addition to a wedding tabletop.

I go weak in the knees for ceramics and couldn’t resist handling these faux-bois plates and dishes by Mame Kennedy Ceramics.

I was ecstatic to find that Asya Palatova of Gleena Ceramics also had a table. I’m a huge fan and purchased several pieces last year. Asya is one of the friendliest Etsy vendors I’ve ever met, and I am lucky to have met her in person several times. Her pieces are so organic and beautiful, I couldn’t help but take another set home. They’re also wonderful wedding gifts. Asya can also customize orders for weddings, anniversaries, and baby showers. If I could go back in time, I would set up my entire china registry with Gleena items!

These gourd bowls have been out of stock for a while, but I am so lucky that Asya had a few sets available. I am now a proud owner.

I am a novice needlecrafter and saw these wonderful kits by AMH Design, which would be excellent gifts for craftier bridesmaids.

Another vendor I love is Coral & Tusk. I’ve been coveting that owl pillow for months. (The little owl is removable!)

I was also super excited to see Anna Bond’s Rifle Paper Co. stationery line. I’ve loved Anna’s work since discovering and falling in love with her wedding when planning mine in 2008.

And how could you resist Sian Keegan’s sweet little animals!? Check out the pair of foxes on the top right—they’d be the cutest cake toppers!

Another favorite from last year was Vintage by Crystal. Crystal is super talented when it comes to ephemera and cotton. I went home with the coolest cotton-spun ornament last year. This year, it was fun to see her collection of wedding-cake toppers.

It was also great to see some beautiful and different hair accessories from Handle and Spout. These flower hair pins would be make the most delicate bridal or bridesmaids accessories.

I also found another one of my favorite bloggers at the sale, Erin Jang from The Indigo Bunting, who is a super talented graphic designer and illustrator. Erin also creates the most fabulous wedding invitations.

And last but not least, a local vendor from Brooklyn, Moontree Letterpress. These coasters would be a nice addition for out-of-town bags for a local NYC wedding.

There were so many fantastic vendors at the sale; it’s definitely worth braving the crowds and visiting!
