Do Not Panic : wedding diy providence Timefli01 timefli01

Tick Tock

We are four months out from the wedding. FOUR MONTHS! When did this happen? Didn’t that dang school bus just start plaguing my mornings, like, yesterday?

In honor of this momentous occasion (because lets face it—December? That’s not even like a month—it feels like a week.) I am going to provide you with the things that have yet to be done.

  • Printing maps for the invitation suite
  • Address envelopes
  • Mailing the suckers
  • Thank you cards from the shower
  • Ring bearer pillows
  • Order ring bearer suspenders
  • Pay people (This one’s sort of important.)
  • Final meetings with vendors
  • Flower girl poms
  • Flower girl dresses (I’m making them.)
  • Obtain marriage license
  • Programs
  • Seating chart
  • Table numbers
  • Signage
  • Place cards
  • Finish bridal-party gifts
  • Whiten teeth
  • Waxing (because I don’t want to try it right before the wedding)
  • General beauty upkeep
  • Final dress fittings
  • Tux fittings
  • Find comfy after-heel shoes
  • Finalize the reception menu
  • Finalize accessories
  • Finalize Dead People Tree
  • Not go crazy

That last one is a priority. Am I missing anything? What’s left on your to-do list? I’m thinking this is pretty tame four months out. I’m still stressing about it, though. Of course.

Dude, you’re fine. We planned our wedding in 4.5 months, so it’s more than possible to get all those things done.

Heheh, I’m sorry, but I’m chuckling at “Dead People Tree.”
Don’t worry — I hear these things always come together in the end!

“Dead People Tree”
haha
Sorry, I know exactly where you are coming from and what you meant but it made me chuckle because at this point I think we all have a few people we would like to tie up by the toes!
You’ll be fine! Don’t worry!

I love how on the weddingbee homepage all this entry consists of is “oh shit” and the clock image. That’s pretty much all that needs to be said :)

I laughed embarassingly loud at the “Dead People Tree” and I’m having trouble typing those words without giggling.

Don’t worry, everything will get done. It seems overwhelming but the time will present it’s self. Holidays are a busy time on top of wedding planning, don’t forget to schedule a little bit of me time to help with the last item on your list.

Don’t freak out! I’m sure you’ll get it all done! I mean, it could be worse, right?

If it makes you feel any better, I just had the 5 month freak out. Where did all the time go??? At least I’m not alone, so thanks for that!

Oh - and waxing? How often are you supposed to do it? I really want to get it done, but I’m kind of terrified and don’t know anything about it so you better let me know how it goes! Seriously!

@ Miss Giraffe: I get waxed once a month, or so. You do it the first time; it’ll hurt but it’s totally worth it. The second time is MUCH easier and then after that, it’s like eating cake…kinda. Ask your waxer how to tell when it’s time — she’ll give her recommendations. OH! And get her name! After you’ve presented your bare self to a stranger, chances are you’d like to keep going to that person, rather than going baring yourself monthly as a ritual to random strangers.

@ Miss Zebra — Dead People Tree. So funny. I’m at work and my boss is the COO and my desk is right outside his office, since I’m his assistant. and I literally Laughed Out Loud and he asked if I was ok. OOPS! Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.
And you can totally do it. We THOUGHT we were done (wedding in March) and he’s completely changed his mind about EVERYTHING so I have 3 months to start all over and plan an entire new wedding. Good news is, my vendors are very understanding. Some gave my deposits back and the ones that didn’t are working with us to re-create our vision.

I’m SO THERE WITH YOU!! I think my list is actually twice as long. And I love how you said Dec is not even a month, “feels like a week.” So true!

Not that it’s a good thing, but glad to know I am not the only one feeling like “OH $HI!. 4 months to go and I feel like it’s in a couple of weeks. I won’t even make a “what’s left to do” list. Out of sight, out of mind. YEAH RIGHT!

I’m so with you on this (though we have 5 months) but you’re SO RIGHT - December doesn’t really count! :-( A recently-married friend did advise me to make a list though; she said it feels better to accomplish something and to actually be able to “cross it off the list” - then you can really see the progress being made. I think we’re all going away to make our own to-do-lists now! xx

@TheFutureMcBride: 4.5 months?! You’re my hero!

@JillBill: I thought that was pretty fantastic too.

@Miss Giraffe: Oh yes. I freaked around 6 months but I bet its probably the same as you. Waxing depends on how fast your hair grows. Normally you need about a 1/4 of hair and my first one lasted about 3 weeks (another 2 after to grow it out long enough). It wasn’t economical for me, so I’ve only done it once. Not shaving on the honeymoon is a priority however.@Mrs. Notebook: ’s advice is spot on. Glad I could make you giggle!

@Ms Cheetah: haha I’m glad I’ve inspired you!

@datialjohnson: You can use my list as a guide! I’d hate to see you forget something huge and remember it the night before.

@panda in England: I hope so! I can’t wait to cross some things off the list.

@Miss Lioness: Yay! I’m glad to hear I can help.
