Completely Customized Cupcakes

December 6th, 2010 @ 9:38 am by Mrs. Giraffe

Like that title, do ya? I know, I know, alliteration makes me all warm and fuzzy too.

I think we all know that cupcakes are all the rage in weddings right know. I get it, I do, but my cake loving heart wants tiers of round goodness so we won’t be having them. It’s a tough call to make though, especially when there are options like these out there.

You know what, though? If I lived in the Big Apple, I would totally go cupcake! Why, you ask? Because of Baked by Melissa.

I can’t remember how I found the Melissa site, but I think it was from a link from a link from a link. Anyways, Baked by Melissa has a customization tool on their website where you can create completely customized cupcake. Now, the only catch is that you have to order 300 cupcakes to get the customized ones, and seeing as that’s probably 100 more than I can eat on my own, then it’d be perfect for a wedding! Check it out! (The following images are all screen shots from the Baked by Melissa site.)

Now, the real question is, are those cupcakes as tasty as they look? I sure hope so!

Bahaha I love how you estimate that 300 is “probably 100 more than [you] can eat on [your] own.”

A girl after my own heart!

Also, thanks for the site recommendation! With finals coming up, I’m looking for anything and everything to delay studying… this is perfect!

Her cupcakes are super yummy. Just so you know though (if you haven’t seen them in person), they are EXTREMELY SMALL. Like pop in your mouth tiny.

OOO at my engagement party Im having a cupcake tower (40 red velvet cupcakes filled with bavarian cream) with a one tier cake (yellow cake with strawberry filling) on top b/c i just had to have a cake topper and a cake to cut!!

But I think for my wedding i’ll prob go a little more traditional as well with a tiered cake

Melissa’s cupcakes are very cute and flavorful, but just to let you know they are quite small, like not that much bigger than a quarter. Take a look at the size comparison on their website:

LOVE that place! We used to get them delivered for birthdays at work. Teeny tiny, but then you are able to try 3 (read: more likely 7+) flavors in one sitting. What a great idea!

Her cupcakes are DELICIOUS! My friend got me 24 for my birthday. Six people VERY quickly polished them off - but YUM, the flavors were delicious!
