Entertaining the Kiddos

December 6th, 2010 @ 7:06 pm by Mrs. Starfish

I know I’ve been a little MIA, but as I was browsing Etsy the other day, I came across the absolute cutest crayons!

Entertaining the Kiddos : wedding favors kids newport Il 570x Can you imagine these at a kids’ table? I bet the kids would adore them! I also love that they are eco-friendly and made out of recycled crayons.

Entertaining the Kiddos : wedding favors kids newport Il 570x01 They are from ivylanedesigns. I found these while looking for some fun arts/crafts supplies for Little Starfish and I had to share them with the hive. I just love Etsy.

And if our wedding hadn’t already passed, how perfect would the crayons below have been for the Starfish Nuptials? I would have loved to give Little Starfish these to entertain her during dinner.

Entertaining the Kiddos : wedding favors kids newport Il 570x03 The Starfish crayons are another eco-friendly design, as they are made from all natural soy and beeswax from Etsy Seller SilverFirsFarm.

Entertaining the Kiddos : wedding favors kids newport Il 570x04 Are you having a kids’ table at your wedding? Are you planning to include anything special for them?

I’m having one!! I plan on having either a bag or cute gable box with each child’s name on it and they will have their goodies in it!! I will also have a table set just for them to go explore their goodies and someone to look after that table, so parents’ can enjoy themselves.

you can make them yourselves, just need to melt down old crayons (or new ones) i think you can even get the wax stuff they’re made of in blocks?

and you could probably use chocolate moulds to make them

Anything, ANYTHING, that will keep the youg’uns happily, harmlessly, and harmoniously occupied is super. Hey. These are really colorful, and that adds something in itself.

Those are really cute! I’d put them on the adults table with some rolls of paper and let them play, too ;D

@kirabee:

I made the ring crayons for my sisters wedding. Suuuuper easy. We bought one set of chocolate ring molds, and used a bunch of our old crayons. Just spray the molds with cooking oil, so the crayons don’t stick. I boiled some water on the stove, and put my crayons into soup cans, and then stuck them in the water until the crayons were melted, then poured them into the mold. They pop out really easily once set. I got my nieces to help me with it (ages 5 & 9). We packaged about 6 crayons for each child up with ribbon holding them together (made a total of 30 packages). Suuuuuper adorable.

Cute! You can easily make them too! Not sure which Bee made them for her wedding, but I feel like someone did…

[...] kids to our wedding, and I LOVE the idea of having a kids table.  Although I love these cutely-themed wedding crayons, I think kids will be happy with just plain old dollar-store [...]
