We chose Mr Hot Wings’ uncle D to be our Deputy Commissioner of Civil Marriage. A simple form to the County Registrar’s office and a $50 check meant he could officiate and sign our marriage certificate. Super easy. Almost too easy if you ask me, but it worked out great for us. He led the processional, and the Wingmen followed.
Then Wingman N (aka Twinsie Wingman) escorted our eldest elder, Mr Hot Wings’ paternal grandmama.
Moms came next. Lil’ Bro Hot Wing escorted Mama Hot Wings. Mr Hot Wings escorted his Mama with his Papa following close behind.
Then, the Hotties came. What’s with the serious faces y’all? I promise they were all told to smile and such. Oh well, they’re still pretty.
And then it was my turn. I took a deep breath, a moment to myself. I’m about to do this. He’s out there and I’m coming. [If you’re listening to the song, fast forward to about the 3 minute mark. Listen to about 45 seconds of the song and wait for it to switch over to Coldplay’s Viva la Vida. That’s my cue to enter.]

One foot in front of the other. OMG, there he is! Crap, he looks good. I’m marrying him! Oh.my.gosh! EKKK… I’m marrying him!

And I’m walking down the aisle. All that work to get to this moment. Take a deep breath, it’s about to really begin. I’m about to really get married this time, legally and everything.
The song…the writing…the memories…it all still makes my heart beat faster. No matter the stuff that went wrong, this is one of those moments where nothing really could have gone wrong. It was mine…ours!

I’ve been reading all your blogs & catching up all the way to the very first posting. We’re finally planning our wedding for July/Aug 2011 (after a 1.5 yr engagement!) and it all seems so overwhelming.

that was our processional song, too! then, at about the 2:50 mark, they closed the doors, my dad & i got into place, and i walked down.
